Our little pup loves this dog park, a lot of space to offer. There is a small and a large breed exercise area, and she can fit in both. I do agree with another review, they are closed far too often. This is the closest dog park to us, and we would like to frequent the park much more often and just give the dog a bath when we get home, but it is often closed because of weather conditions. You should always be able to check online though, which is a positive. Water for the dogs would be nice, as I have seen that at other parks, but other than that, no real complaints. Great space to take your dogs, but dog parents, if your pup isn't as friendly, please walk them around the trials of the dog park rather than letting your dog roam free. My pup got bit for walking by the park bench that a dog had a ball under it and was possessive of just other dogs...

Minooka used to be my go-to dog park, even though I live :25 away. But they need to update their site more frequently in terms of whether the dog area is open or closed. Because it is hilly, whether it is open or closed greatly depends on how the weather has affected the terrain (totally understandable!) But, I can't tell you how many times the site said they were open but after my drive I learned nope, closed. I was informed they only update the site with that info 3x week, last being a Thursday. A lot can happen weather-wise before the weekend. And yes, you could venture a guess based on the weather but that doesn't always pan out. If its dry, go. Otherwise, take a few more minutes to drive to...

It’s a lovely layout for dogs to run, explore, and play with other dogs. We’ve only been in the large dog area (my dog is 40lbs) and every human we’ve encountered seems very level headed and also very happy to be there. It really helps to keep the tension at bay- tension which can cause unpredictable behavior in dogs. But again, that has not been an issue at all when we’ve gone 😊. The terrain can be a little rough in some spots, but it’s natural, not manicured, so it’s in pretty good shape when that’s considered. I do understand it’s meant for dogs, but I wouldn’t mind if it had a little more for humans, such as a nearby bathroom facility and another couple of benches would take my...

There is a lady with this dog, “Cora,” who attacked my tiny dog. I then witnessed Cora attack another dog ( who I exchanged numbers with btw) The lady is not physically able to break up fights, so she brings this younger, taller man with her. She keeps Cora leashed now with a shock collar on, and insisted that Cora’s behavior has been “corrected.” I’m not one for blasting someone online, but I would bet other dogs have been attacked by Cora, and I don’t think it’s fair to other dogs/owners that this lady is knowingly bringing Cora to a dog park with behaviors of this nature. I also don’t see the point in bringing Cora to a dog park with a shock collar on.

Great fenced play areas for both large and small dogs. Plenty of poo bags and receptacles. There are shaded areas with benches for humans. No watering stations available, so bring water and dish for your dog. Owners may want to bring extra water as we ended up sharing with several dogs who didn't have water available to them.
