So my wife & I are obscenely excited about Wiltse's Farm Produce in Maple Park.
Perhaps too excited, you might be saying, but then again you should probably make some time before the season is over to get some of the best produce in the world!
Sure, it's only been open for 50 years But new for us, we have been longing for the homegrown taste since having left the Old Country Today we made the trip to check them out and our only regret is not having done it sooner!
They've got the best tomatoes, onions, corn, squash, green peppers, honey, cantaloupe, watermelon, ( all fresh and homegrown, among other things)
We walked away with a fridge's worth of fresh goods that, actually leads to us spending less money at restaurants this next couple of week and buying from stores that we are always disappointed with, and it will keep us from going completely broke buying things that end up in the bin.
And another plus we had a home cooked meal that reminded of my youth in the old county , We are hooked for life!

Read moreprices a little high. staff gets very short with customers. I'm not from the farms and i didn't know what to do with the sunflower are for. I asked one of the staff what the sunflowers are for she repeatedly told me check the paper. i didn't know what she was talking about, seem that there was a paper near the cash register that explained what to do with the sunflowers.
there was also a very senior women that inquired about when they would get potatoes. She replied that she had no idea in a very condescending tone. the lady was visible upset and she told her husband. When he asked he also received the same kind of answer..

My wife found Wiltse's so we decided to give it a go. Best decision! The produce was reasonable priced and the pumpkins were extremely cheap and looked great. We decided to go on the trailer tongue field and pick our own. 3 30+lb pumpkins for $22? SOLD and they look great! We'll be back next...
