A quick U-turn later, we opted for cash payment. While the $21 toll price tag did sting a bit, the breathtaking views quickly made up for it.

This is a beautiful ride of the Chesapeake Bay especially at sunrise or sunset. Tunnels are not the scary. And don’t worry. If your out of town you may slow down. Us Virginians won’t get to mad. But just remember the speed limit is 55. But this one heck of a ride. Summers can get congested going into the tunnels. Tunnels are two way traffic keep that in mind. So yes there is a height restriction. Also there can be wind restrictions also. So plan this trip of your in a bigger vehicle. There are bathrooms on both ends.
