Went to the Imagine Dragons about a week ago and had an absolute blast. The concert itself was excellent. Imagine Dragons is always a good experience and bring their all. Entering the event was smooth. I paid for preferred parking and got a great spot. Got signed in and received my tickets and extra goodies. The venue itself is clean and well kept. My issue came into their 'cashless' policies. The entire venue has gone cashless which is my preferred payment method. I did not know this when going. I went to checkout and buy my items, pulled out cash and was told they could not accept it. I was told I could use a card or turn my cash into a gift card at guest services. Instead of losing my place in line and the items I had in hand, I reluctantly used my credit card. Moving on, we find our seats sit down and wait for the concert to start. We get up and go grab food. Upon first entering the seating area, the workers tell us that we will need to show our tickets each time re-entering the seating area. Fine. They tell us to screenshot our tickets to make things easier. I do so. After getting food, we try to get back to our seats, show the lady our screenshot of our tickets, as we were told to do..and then the lady wants to argue with us, that we need to show our tickets individually. I was the ticket holder and had provided every persons ticket on my screenshots, proving we had seat. Oh and keep in mind we have wristbands and lanyards for VIP, which I thought would be additional help to show that we had indeed purchased these tickets. She eventually let us back in explaining that I had all the tickets on my phone. We decided not to leave our seats after that encounter. We enjoy the concert. It was amazing. We were lucky to get out of the venue easily, I know many who weren't as fortunate. Parking and leaving this venue has always been an issue. I knew what I was getting into and simply got lucky this round. Now, not being a credit card person, I check my account a few days after the concert, and low and behold there are tons of fraudulent charges! My bank informed me that my card was scanned and hacked during the concert. The only time I used it or pulled it out of the protected case was to purchase items at this venue. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASES ANYTHING FROM THEM UNLESS YOU USE THE GIFT CARD OPTION. EITHER THAT OR MAKE SURE TO KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR ACCOUNT! I find it ridiculous they want you to use card, making it your only option..after this experience, it concerns me how many other people may have this problem. It's a shame they take advantage of a good time to...
Read moreI came to the Veterans Home Loan Amphitheater last night to see Tesheshi Trucks after a long shift at work. I have a medical condition that requires me to stay hydrated, so I brought a sealed water bottle with me. Unfortunately, security wouldn’t allow it in and told me I could purchase water inside.
But as soon as I entered, we were told that food and beverage service had stopped due to a weather delay, and we were instructed to immediately seek shelter. I followed directions, but as I sat in the heat with no access to water, I began to feel dizzy, nauseous, and physically unwell.
I got up and asked a staff member for help, and was directed to a supervisor, who then sent me to guest services. I was told I could get a courtesy cup of water there—but when I arrived, I was told there were no cups and there was nothing they could do.
I’m honestly baffled and really disappointed by how this situation was handled. I followed all the rules, tried to come prepared, and still ended up in a situation that could have been dangerous — all for something as simple as a cup of water. It’s unacceptable that guests with health needs aren’t given basic accommodations, and I truly hope this is taken seriously for the safety of others in the future.
-After I originally posted this review, I started reading through the one-star reviews, and I’m honestly not surprised. The majority of them are from people with medical conditions or physical disabilities who were completely ignored or dismissed by staff. Some passed out in the sun. Some were denied basic accessibility. Many were told water was available—only to find that “courtesy cups” don’t actually exist, and the only option is to pay $14 for bottled water. At least when Wawa charges for air, it’s $1. This place doesn’t even...
Read moreI recently went to the Veterans United Home Loans Ampitheater in Virginia Beach for a Shinedown concert. Make sure to review the clear bag policy before going to the concert via their website because only certain size bags are allowed andor pants with pockets (which I made sure to wear to enable myself to carry certain necessities to get into the concert for instance the photo id). There are multiple stands of drinks and foods available however make sure that you have a good debit andor credit card available in case one andor more of the drink andor food stands are card only for payment (with cash only being allowed if it is for a tip). I admit that I purchased some drinks during the concert from a couple of the stands that were tasty (a watermelon margarita drink and an Arnold Palmer spiked can). I had fun at the Shinedown and Jelly Roll concert with a multiple number of exciting performances. The only caveat I must speak up about is to be careful about making plans ahead of time if you can before getting into the concert about your ride after the concert ends. There were multiple crowds of people/concertgoers also waiting for rides after the concert and I even overheard another concertgoer be rightfully concerned about their ride status after an uber driver cancelled on them. I was fortunate in getting in contact with a Lyft driver who picked me up in a reasonable timeframe after contacting them even though I waited until after the concert to arrange a ride. However even though I got lucky that time I know better if there is a next time in me going. Aside from that post concert ride caveat, getting into this concert venue itself is easy, efficient, and the employees I interacted with for questions that I had were reasonable and friendly with...
