Above and beyond what you may expect from a historic home. You won't find a friendlier staff of docents at any other similar property. Take the guided tour; it is worth it. You will find writing on the wall from a child in the 1800s. Some of the original glass window panes have etchings on them. You can actually touch some of the original framing from the 1600s. And, if you are brave, go sit in the garret for a bit and listen for the voices from long ago. And, I haven't even mentioned the large manicured grounds that you can roam. The landscape was beautiful and perfect for a little photo op with my daughter. We even met Ms. Carol who set it all up and she just had an overwhelming love for the castle and you could tell she was passionate about her job. Will definitely try and come for the spooky tour.
