My three young kids and I visited to check out the bike pump track. There was a small parking lot with Porta potties nearby. To get to the playground and the track, we walked up a small hill following the trail past the large pavilion with picnic tables and charcoal grills. The playground was small, but shaded with a couple of benches around it. There was a lot of climbing equipment and a couple of things that spun. On the farther side of the playground was a basketball court, and just beyond that was the pump track. While the playground and basketball court were shaded around 11 to 12, the track was in full sun. Nonetheless my nine year old loved it! There's also a trail of some sort but it started off so steeply I didn't want to force my dog...

The view from the dam is best. Half of the trail is paved and the other half is a natural surface. The side trail that connects to the Cross County Trail is unmarked and very rugged. It's a 10 minute walk from Brookfield Pond to the portion of the Cross County trail north of the Bryon Avenue park, but be advised that the terrain is difficult to navigate and likely...
