I’ve traveled all around the world going to French vineyards in the Champagne region. The homey atmosphere with the local food trucks really just tickled my fancy. I love meeting the owners Son moesly. I would love to create environment of myself like this one it really put off a homey vibe. With good music good wine and great food I would definitely recommend this to a local friend. Even if I lived in California I was able to go to Napa I would still come here it’s just that good. I was traveling to Virginia wine trail and this was the best up yet all I wanted to do was eat their yummy food and drink their wine. I would Recommend the G.I. G.I. I’ve seen the other reviews of bad service I have nothing to say even after my 18th visit. This place is like a home way from home I wish I could go back sometimes would highly recommend thank you your local...
Read moreLet me start by saying I don’t normally write reviews, but I HAD to post something about this place. We stumbled upon this absolute treasure after having a not so great tasting at another vineyard. We had about an hr and a half to kill before our next tasting appointment and Chisholm was perfectly on the way to our next vineyard.
BOY am I glad we stopped for this impromptu tasting. The grounds are beautiful and the tasting room/ patio area looks like something out of the secret garden. The second we walked in the door- we were greeted by Mary and Andrea (owner) who were both sweet, engaging and hospitable. Their knowledge of wine, the family history of the farm and the tasting itself was next level.
Do yourself a favor- get the frose, ask about Gigi (total badass), nibble on some chocolates and make sure you add this hidden gem to your vineyard itinerary- we certainly will be back.
Thank you ladies for turning an impromptu tasting into our favorite...
Read moreIt all started well. The young lady at the counter told us that the entrance fee was $8 for those 6 and older, so no problem, we have 5 year old twins, paid the $16 and asked how much were the pumpkins. She said that the small and medium pumpkins were $4, and the large ones were $8. Then, we picked a couple of pumpkins that clearly were small/medium, and a different, older lady there charged us $16! We were shocked, and asked her if these pumpkins were considered large, and she replied that ALL pumpkins were $8. Something very fishy was going on. We sucked it up, and tried to enjoy the rest of the day, only to hear this older lady ask my 5 year old daughter if she was 5 or 6 years old, clearly to see if she could charge us for the entrance fee. But, really, asking a 5 year old, almost in front of her father??!! Outrageous... Never...
