I don't know what happened last year or the year before that made people unhappy, but my family's experience here was wonderful. We went on Father's Day an as soon as we walked into the complex, we were greeted by a happy.gentleman named Arturo. Arturo's attitude and enthusiasm was amazing and contagious. He thoroughly explained what my family and I could expect during our visit. We all agreed at that time that if our experience was as great as Arturo, then we would not be disappointed.
As we progressed to the main counter, we were greeted by Jackson. Jackson is a younger guy who is thorough at explaining everything. He gave us all the options for purchasing passes and explained each one in a way that was easy to understand so we could make the purchase that was best for us- me, my husband, adult son and five-year old grandson. We purchased four of the Ultimate passes. This gave us entry to four attractions and gave us some arcade money. We also added a few more attractions.
For our attractions, we chose go-carts, bumper cars, the batting cages and miniature golf. Every attraction we went to had awesome and friendly employees, who all were very helpful and each even wished my husband and Son a Happy Father's Day. Each attraction- inside and out- was working (unlike other places we have visited) and all were very clean.
Before we went to Compass, I read the poor reviews here to make sure we were aware of what to look out for. Based on all of our experiences from our first visit, we find the poor reviews of Compass completely unfounded.
Before we left home, we signed our waivers on the Compass Entertainment website, knew what the weather forecast was and had a general understanding of each package to purchase. I called to inquire about purchasing passes online before our visit., as the passes seemed more expensive for what I thought we would be getting. The employee that answered explained that since it was our first visit, it may be better to wait until we got there to purchase our passes so each package could be explained to us more thoroughly. She was correct about this and if we would have bought our passes online, we would have missed out on the Arturo experience. :)
We ate lunch at the Meridian Restaurant inside the complex. We all got different burgers and our grandson got chicken tenders. The food was a little pricey, but totally worth it. The Swine Burgers were delicious and perfectly cooked to each of our requested degrees and you will absolutely love the different kinds of fries offered, too.
Needless to say, our experience at Compass was great. We stayed and played for over 6 hours. The only thing we did not do was take in a movie. With each attraction, video game, food, cleanliness, and employee experience, I conclude that if you have a bad experience at Compass, it is...
Read moreToday we ventured back for brunch I’ve enclosed more pics to give you an idea of it .
While this is a brief view of the complex ..I'll update it as I experience more. Would appreciate an informative complete tour to describe it better.
As you know while this area is scenic and charming , exciting is not a word I'd hear bandied about to describe it.. and for kids ..well, it's more of a snooze fest here. Compass Entertainment is here to add some life and fun answers to those needs and it succeeds in filling that void. I noticed kids really enjoying all that was there.. that's a big plus to parents and Grandparents too who scratch their heads thinking how to amuse them. I'm not certain they have any special priced ticket to sample all offerings at a little discount? This I think might help what seemed to be less used sections get the audience they should have to then have everything equally vibrant. There was a ton of staff, they checked n kept up with all current health concerns as well as help with any questions you might have. I cant wait to go to a movie there, as I miss going to the Movies a lot.. especially seeing Euro or true film lover movies youd see in Nyc. I'd love live entertainment and films of Broadway plays for those of us who arent using the more exciting youth based elements.
Compass is a bit of "OZ" on the Northern Neck. Get the bored kids in the SUV and make it to the magical Compass Entertainment complex..you'll enjoy your day!
Update :
I recently tried the Meridian Bar and Grill at the Compass Entertainment Center . The help. Was very attentive Dean ,my waiter, checked in to make sure all was going smoothly for me. The menu featured an array of Appetizers as well as Drinks and Entrees . After 5 pm things started getting busier and by 6 it was filling up. The fries were like a cross between a chip n a regular French fry , while the asparagus and shrimp appetizer offered a crispy thin coating on the asparagus and an ample amount of shrimp. Several other dishes sounded interesting but I couldn’t even finish what I ordered, so maybe next time. I can’t wait to try the drinks and the movie theater, which I hear is very comfy!
Btw they take ultra care with protecting the staff and visitors by taking the health situation very seriously using several...
Read moreI came here just to play mini golf. The lobby and arcade look very modern and clean. And i really enjoyed how well designed the mini golf holes are. However, i was annoyed that before i could purchase a round of golf, i had to go put all my personal information into their computer and sign a waiver. I know the waiver is really for the ropes course and other attractions like that, but why do i need to sign it to play putt putt? Why do you need my name, phone number, email, and address just to i can smack a ball into a hole!? And why do i have to pay a person in lobby for a plastic scan card just to have someone outside scan the card so i can play mini golf? Why are you adding soo many extra steps? Once i got outside to the shack with putters and balls, there wasn’t even an employee stationed there to scan the card and give us our clubs. I had to reach over to get out clubs, but once we started playing someone came and and called us back over to scan our cards, and then he went back inside. Halfway through our game i wanted to buy a bottle of water because it was hot out. I went back to the golf shack where there is water for sale and waited for an employee to come sell me a water. Nobody ever came. Maybe yall are underaffed, but my guess is non of your employees want to work in the golf hut because it’s hot and there is just an old fan in there. Maybe put an AC unit in there and actually have an employee stationed ready to help your customers. The whole system just felt convoluted. Why can’t i just hand you ten bucks and you hand me a putter and ball? All these plastic cards are just...
