Review for RC Park only. Cons- Parking, you'll need to carry all your gear about 75 yds. Track is all clay. Other than a light sprinkle (20-30 min.) 4 nights before my visit, the track was still a mess. Some places had standing water and the rest of the track was muddy. After 1 lap the my ARRMA Senton was unrecognizable. If there were more than 3 people trying to race it would be hard to tell who is who. At the starting line there is a buried railroad tie that had become exposed so I had to run the track backwards so I wouldn't hit the 4-5" exposed portion of the R.R.Tie. it wouldn't be so bad if they had a garden hose or something to clean your boots, buggy or truck with. The track is lined with corrugated pipe. Instead of cutting it in half or digging a little trench for the sit-in before using landscape spikes the hold it down. With the round tubing being laid out the way it is they would have needed to use twice as many landscape spikes to hold the corrugated pipe down because having one spike every 10 to 15 feet just doesn't cut it especially in the corners. Whenever I would brush up against the edge of the corrugated pipe it moved easily. Depending on what part of the track you're on it may move two or three inches or in a couple corners it would move up to a foot or so. I will say that while walking the track I did notice that some spikes were missing. Lack of any substantial high ground which made it difficult to see what was on the other side of the jumps so there's no way to make mid air adjustments, which makes it a little harder to stick the landing with all 4 tires at once. I landed on another guys 1/12th scale buggy with my 1/5th scale Losi DBXLE 2.0 buggy. The 2nd time it happened I landed on them hard enough that he got stuck in the muddy clay. Pros - Somewhere that you can run your RC trucks & buggies without anyone complaining. It's a great place to meet other people who share the same hobby. I spent nearly as much time talking to other people as I did doing laps. There's a 20x 50 ft rock crawler hill and they used a section of aluminum bleacher seats to construct a rock crawler obstacle course with multiple points of entry. It may have seem like the list of cons was longer but it was my 1st time there and even if it was 60° outside it was still winter (2-10-22). I spent around 2.5 hours there and when I got home I spent another 20 minutes cleaning my boots and over an hour cleaning the Losi buggy and ARRMA truck. Now the question is what I go back again? You may not think so but I really do look forward to returning in the spring once it's warmed up and had some time to dry out. If you read this part you're definitely into RC trucks & buggies, hopefully you'll find the time to make it there yourself and you never know we may run...
Read moreSo the park for people is good. The dog park on the other hand were a pain to get to. The map showing the whole park did not display the dog parks, there was little pieces of paper just taped to it with a picture of a dog. The entrance for the "little dogs only" was buried partially in the woods. The same thing was with the "large dog park" there also was little to no shade for the dogs in that section. There was shade for people at the benches. The last dog park was a large field which is great but with a big warning label saying it is not fully fenced in. That is the case because 3/8 was only fenced in. Don't get me wrong it's an OK park but the walk from the car to the park is a...
Read moreI love letting my dog play while the park is empty. I dont trust strangers dogs with mine, so when people come or are already in there, everyone has been very understanding. Unfortunately today my dog was bit by a copperhead here. It bit his face, and costed about $1200 at the vet for treatment. I understand that this is a wooded area, and to always be vigilant, but with venomous snakes, it would be nice to at least have some warning signs put up. My dogs face has swelled like a balloon and he is in a lot of pain. Please stay aware of your surroundings. The snake was on the main path and blended in with the dirt, so was...
