Gwynn's Island Museum — Attraction in Virginia

While this museum isn't open daily, it is well worth a visit if you happen to be in the area on the days it is open. They have a fascinating amount of historical information and have set up displays in a manner that makes it easily accessible for visitors. The vast amount of island history on display shows how much the locals value that history and the connections between the people. It really showcases what makes this place special for those of us visiting. We planned a day entirely around when this was open, and we were not disappointed. Mathews is a very small county and Gwynn's Island is a small portion of the county, but we sure have an interesting museum!
