Finally got to try this place out yesterday after a very long time of wanting to. What a pleasant surprise hidden back in away from hustle and bustle. A very young (like just barely 2 years old) but don’t let that keep you from trying them sooner rather than later because they have a seasoned and excellent wine maker and 100% have an established winery taste. Everything tastes crisp and clean, one of the best chambourcin I have tasted, and I’m not even a big fan of dey red wine! Their one sweet wine (for now.... I hear theres another coming veered soon that I will be back for the release of) is a vidal blanc and I’ve only ever had it as a dry, it was amazing. The people work there (or the few we met) are super nice and starting to get very knowledgeable, still a little growing and schooling to do but treat yourself to this place on Saturday or Sunday afternoon....only downfall I can spot is the super limited hours 12-4 Sat and 1-4 Sun, so its hard to find them open if you don’t make a plan around their hours...but it’s worth taking an afternoon away from the yard work (or finish it that morning then go, they’re cool with that) or your others weekends...
Read moreI have been frequenting Iron Heart Winery for over two years. Their wine is delicious, with a type to suit any wine lover. I often buy it in the store if I'm unable to visit the Winery.
The best part of this winery is their location. It's out in the middle of nowhere (sorry limited cell phone service to send selfies), but it's the perfect getaway for an hour or two (or four). I love renting a cabana on the property for a day. It's a great, affordable way to spend the day with friends. I prefer a creek side cabana, so I can drink wine while relaxing in the river on a hot day! A bottle of wine is included with the cabana rental price, and feel free to bring snacks.
If the cabana isn't your thing, there are plenty of tables and chairs on the patio, or inside the tasting room.

Read moreMild weather on a February Saturday prompted us to travel the backroads to Iron Heart Winery and Salty Stash Distillery. The building seemed lonely as we pulled into the parking lot and we wondered if it was open. It was 12:15, they opened at 12:00. Entering we were greeted by the owner and he enthusiastically showed us his handiwork in remodeling the interior into a cozy tasting room for wine, spirits, and some retail. Three floors of space to enjoy the fruits of the vine. We are not wine drinkers but we left with a bottle of our favorite from our tasting. We stayed about an hour and watched a steady flow of people come in. Couples and families filled the room with joy. What a nice place. Bring your own food. And look for the Iron Heart trailer at local festivals like...
