Lake Keokee — Attraction in Virginia

A hidden local gem that I had never visited before. Very nice parking and easy access to the water. There is a ramp and a dock. Your surrounded by the mountains and rhododendron. Very good lake for beginner kayakers and paddle boarders to play around on. I've been here twice now and it was never busy and the other people there were super nice and respectful. Love this place one of my favorite places and if you like kayaking , fishing or just taking a stroll its great for that too there is bathrooms that could be cleaner but always remember to take tp and bug spray and watch for snakes keep an eye out for bear's and clean up...

This lake has a problem near the shorelines with Nymphoides peltata (yellow heart lily) an exotic aquatic plant species introduced from Europe. Maybe grass carp another exotic species might aid in cleaning this...
