Boat access to Mountain Run Lake with appropriate permits; small dock by boat launch; I think that fishing is permitted, with license and per regulations; picnic pavilions and restrooms, although I don't know if the restrooms are open often, or have soap and water; grassy dog park; tall pine or related evergreen trees in some parts; a good playground that gets some usage in the evenings and on weekends; some swings. Beautiful lake and sunset views. Driving by, you might even see the mountains in the background.
I believe that it is maintained by a local charity group -- maybe the Lions Club. Not a huge park, but it's decent-sized and quite nice nonetheless.
Gravel parking, but I think that the roads are paved. Doable even in a low-clearance vehicle.

In addition to a VA state fishing license, one is also required to buy a Mtn. Run/Pelham lake fishing permit, and if you have one or more boats, you will need to buy a sticker for each one. Fishing permits and boat stickers each cost $20 for 2 years and are available at Town Hall on Main St.
The park also features athletic fields, picnic pavilions, a playground, a dog park, and lots of space for hiking and other activities. Boat rentals and bait sales are...

All shelters were full and many people were enjoying this location. There's a small playground, a bathroom, lots of parking and plenty of shore access for fishing and boating. Dogs must be leashed. The shelter and picnic tables were in good condition. Trash cans had plenty of room for our parties disposable items. A pleasant surprise was the ice cream truck from Big Daddy'z ice cream came through. All in all a good day at this park. We'll return. 5 out of seven stars for a...
