This park is a very well-maintained series of baseball/softball, football/soccer/lacrosse/field hockey fields, with natural turf and stadium lighting. The secret to keeping the fields in great shape is that practice and play is not allowed on wet fields and that cancellations for wet conditions must sometimes be made with little notice to teams/leagues. Loudoun County Parks & Recreation has done a good job of mitigating any adverse impacts to leagues by using an app that we may all use to be notified more quickly. Read moreWe've been coming out to the Bolen softball fields for years, and the Fields are always well-maintained, but if your daughter pitches, plan for a turned or broken ankle (my daughter's suffered both). Despite high-tech equipment, the crews don't do a great job maintaining the pitcher's circle, so you'll see pitchers falling down at least once or twice per game due to deep craters at the pitching rubber.

Read moreSufficient parking, although sometimes you have to walk a distance for it. Public restrooms are sparse but clean. Sometimes the grass stinks (!) when wet! Lots of fields that are mostly numbered correctly, lol. Supposedly there are walking paths, but they don't stand out to me. Soccer fields #1 & 2 have the minimum security prison (the local jail) overlooking them, and it is very exciting during soccer games bc sometimes you can hear the prisoners all screaming and yelling, or the prison guards broadcasting...
