Our family just had a weekend wedding at Villa Appalaccia, and it was an incredibly good experience. We'd been to the Winery before, but this just made us want to come back, and we live 4 hours away. They worked with the bridal couple in every possible way, provided great wines, helped us with the beer on the kids' own ABC license, and did almost all of the setup and takedown - minimal work for the family - we just had fun and more fun. The bridal couple is vegan and vegetarian, and they totally accommodated that. Additionally, they set the bridal couple up in their Blue Summit AirB&B for lodging and for a rehearsal dinner - totally different from the wedding reception dinner, and all was delicious and the best we could have hoped for. This is our last child to get married, so we've had experiences with different venues and in different states, but this was as good or better than any. Superb in all ways, and I would highly recommend them as an event venue and simply as a great winery - my wife and I think their wines are some of the best, and we've done wine tastings all over the US, Europe, South America and Australia -...
Read moreBEAUTIFUL outside spot, beautiful scenery & views. The air is crisp, it’s spacious, they have chairs to sit on various areas. My fiancé had asked for a German wine, & how the employee responded was a bit pretentious. We bought a bottle of delicious wine called Raspberry Taxi & charcuterie board. The wine was a HIT. REALLY good. Charcuterie board was a miss, with poor presentation. They do not offer flights ( I asked). I was the only POC there, only black person there, so that stood out to me but perhaps I should have expected that. Not an issue per se, just observation They have dogs roaming around on no leash- so heads up for those with dog phobia, but they seem like friendly dogs. The entire place is dog friendly and kid friendly. Would I go back? Yes if I want a bottle of wine in that particular setting. It felt SO RELAXING. I mean the view is enough to want to go esp as a visitor. A lot of parking. You go to the front & order what you want & they bring it to you- but there are no waiters. It’s a quaint spot in a tiny town Floyd, and a much more casual laid back setting. Glad I visited. Good spot to sit and hang...

My local friend who brought me here raved about how much more complex their wines are, and better bouquets, than the nearby Chateau Morrisette. She also mentioned that the new owners (as of about the last year) provide a vibe that is superior to the previous owners.
All the wines I've tasted here on my two visits are quite wonderful. Visiting the tasting room and hanging outside on the property was such a beautifully relaxed yet elevated experience, the food was very good, and I just love their canine policy! (Bring your dog!)
Our brother-in-law, who is quite the wine aficionado, just can't get enough of their wine. We gave him two bottles of the Toscanello for Christmas last year and he keeps dropping "hints" (not hints, haha) that these are the wine he expects in future, so we picked up a case this time and a few bottles of their other varieties.
Definitely recommend this as a "can't miss" experience for most anyone visiting this area, especially...
