Virginia Hang Gliding — Attraction in Virginia

I was scared to do this My 2 grandkids talked me into it. Their mother was extremely apprehensive to allow me to take them. I am 77. They are teenagers. I called, made a reservation. We arrived at the apppointed time. I insisted we do the easiest, smoothest, lowest, shortest trips.

Donnie, the Glider pilot, put us instantly at ease. His demeanor, professionalism, and honest concern for my fears, was the key to not only the experience of a joy of a my lifetime, but also a repeat of the experience 2 weeks later along with the (previously apprehensive) mother of the teens, and with the youngest teen, who wanted to do the ultimate experience - the "1 mile high acrobatic flight."

To shorten this review, the end result was: the teen was permitted to actually steer the glider at times, did all kinds of maneuvers, turns, etc, with whatever Donnie felt comfortable about that he could handle. The mother said that her flight was the joy of a lifetime. And I was thrilled to be able to fly like a bird, not once, but twice!

This was my gift for my wife on our anniversary. It was one of the things on her bucket list. She started smiling from the moment she arrived. The owner and pilot were great! They tow their hang glider behind an ultralight and they went up and up and it was impressive from the ground. My wife had never been but she was thrilled to see the bay to the ocean. She smiled the whole time on the go pro video they made. The staff are very safe and will only fly in the right conditions. So, if you are delayed in your reservation, it is because they are professionals and know when the weather isn't safe to take you up. If you are visiting during this vacation season, this is a must, must, must! We just moved here from Kansas last fall and I think this is going to be a regular thrill for her. I cannot because I am disabled, but I am exceedingly happy for her. You must try this. You will be happy with the memory of flying like an Eagle...

AMAZING experience! Bill and Donny were great! HIGHLY recommend. Hang gliding was better than sky diving (that's what my fiancé and I agreed on). Quick process to get us in the air, and it was so fun! Great views, awesome experience, and great guys who love their job and are very kind. Easy drive to get there, good directions from Bill, who let us reschedule our flight to a different day because it was cloudy. He was very sweet! It was not only an awesome experience being in the air, taking off and landing, but it was really great that bill and Donny were so welcoming. We bought the go pro videos but had an issue with them and Bill apologized and sent us a refund and offered them for free next time. We will definitely go back, not only for the fun experience, but because Bill and Donny are very genuine people....
