Honestly don’t waste your time. First of all, I’d like to preface this by saying my grandma is 99 and cannot see or hear as well as she used to. Now for the review. My grandma is from the Waltons era and watches the show everyday. The museum portion of it was cool. Replicas of the rooms and shops etc., super neat and my grandma was so excited. She was even more excited to see the girls room and the replica house built as well. After the museum we went across the street to the house where we thought we could look and take pictures, like with the car and house etc. We did not know that you would need a tour or anything because I mean you don’t just know those things. My grandma could not see the car or house so we were trying to Get closer so she would be able to see, after all this trip was for her. The lady came out and told us, very rudely I might add, to get off her property or buy a tour. First of all, we had no idea that someone ran a bed and breakfast there but the fact that she was so rude about it, didint even inform us, was basically yelling, and my grandma had no idea what was going on or why we couldn’t see it. That is fine if it’s your property but screaming at us to buy a tour or get off your property is not at all kind, My grandma could not even see the house and that is all we were trying to do. Such a rude lady...

The museum is neatly laid out and clean, but I think many of the items are not original and replicas. There’s a small gift shop inside but couldn’t buy anything because no one was manning the counter.
There was a video room showing a documentary, but at the same time we arrived, a full tour bus came and we couldn’t get seats. That’s not the museum’s fault though. I don’t think my small kids would have been interested anyway.
Earl Hamner’s house isn’t open to the public but open for tours on certain days. The store next door was selling antiques and relevant Waltons merch, at lower prices than the museum. The shopkeeper wasn’t friendly though. He didn’t acknowledge us or speak to us except to tell my son to close the door because the AC was on.
You have to be a real fan of the show for to enjoy this place. I liked it but my family wasn’t really into it. The tour bus of people were all senior citizens so I don’t know how much longer this place will...

If you’re a fan of The Waltons, this is a must-visit! The Walton’s Mountain Museum in Schuyler, VA (pronounced “Skyler”) is a very good stop that offers a nostalgic trip back to the beloved TV series. You can comfortably enjoy everything in a couple of hours, and the $12 admission is well worth it. The museum is full of interesting exhibits, replicas of the show’s sets, and memorabilia that fans will really appreciate. A charming and meaningful experience for anyone who grew up watching the series or has recently...
