Three individuals have gone missing at Donnell Vista Point in California: Nita Mayo (2005), Patricia Tolhurst (2014), and Breck Phelps (2016). All three disappeared without a trace at the same location, a lookout point in the Stanislaus National Forest.
This is a beautiful place to see but it comes with an unsettling feeling, knowing that many people have gone missing without a trace, followed by wide scale searches with NOTHING found. There used to be a bench with the name of someone who had gone missing from this site but the next time I went, the bench was gone. We could see the rain in the distance and our daughter was loving the smell of the rain. It was pet friendly but the women's bathroom was filled with bees, there was no soap, and my daughter decided it would be best to use the bathroom elsewhere. There was a dumpster by the bathrooms perfect for disposing your doggy poop bags. I saw a trail and many lookout points below where we parked. It would be a great place to come back...
