Lake Waconia — Attraction in Waconia Township

I've been going here since I was a little kid, and it's one of my favorite lakes in Minnesota. There's a beach with a swimming area and lifeguards, with the occasional seaweed feeling under your feet or spotting of sunfish. Great sand for making sandcastles, and an amazing place for kids. Playground right next to it and public grills great for groups and barbecuing, picnic benches are also there....

Interesting lake...The fishing can be real tricky when the wind picks up and they tend to have an attitude at certain times.

Lake is heavily recreational so if you are intending to fish you'll most likely have to put up with a lot of jetskis and tubers.

Public boat ramp can be a little iffy because it's only 3ft deep for about 100 yards off shore so...

Beautiful lake with an island that you can walk around and enjoy. Which is really fun if you know the history of the island. The lake is good for boating, kayaking, paddle boarding etc... there are several access areas around the lake. The beach is nice and well taken care of, good for swimming...
