My dog and I visited Gaddy Covered Bridge as part of a six mile walk through the Pee Dee National Wildlife Refuge. While the bridge is worth visiting, as other reviewers have commented it's probably not worth the trek just to see the bridge. But if you plan on spending a few hours walking, as we did, it was a lot of fun, peaceful, and very enjoyable. Understand this is a rural area, and that a wildlife refuge by design is not for those expecting extensive facilities such as paved trails, an overabundance of signs -- or even bathrooms. But in my opinion that's part of the charm. I'll attach a picture I took near the entrance that I think will be helpful, as Google maps does not clearly show all roads or trails. I parked at the intersection of Griffin and Grassy Island Roads and walked to the bridge on Gaddy Road. It is also possible to park closer on Gaddy Road near the short trail to the bridge, joining the trail as shown on Google maps as it bends sharply to the east. When we were done we took the full trail from the Gaddy Road parking lot back down to Griffin Road. The trail ends at a concrete structure in the middle of a an access road turn around, which is an area I don't recommend for parking. Note that in the winter is it not permissible to enter the eastern dark green shaded area of the park. So you can walk over the bridge but you are expected to immediately turn around as not to disturb the wildlife. Formal signs denote this area.

If your into short walks and neat historical landmarks this is a neat visit. Really only recommend if your nearby visiting something else. Don’t be hesitant about driving down the path, it feels strange but is in the correct place. If you follow the road past the bridge it eventually leads to a kayak launch which is a nice stop to put your feet in the water

This covered bridges is accessible after a brief walk. The terrain isn’t no flat but manageable for people without mobility issues. A narrow walkway with 2-3 steps is present on one side. The other entry point closes to protect the water fowls. It is quiet with trickles from the Pee Dee River slip. Can’t wait to visit at a lusher...
