Came here on Saturday in June with Girl Scout Troop (6-8 year olds) and families. 20 in total. We did a half day (9-11, 1130-130 sessions on the water). The whole water adventure is set up with lots of places to specifically climb up onto it, though you dont have handles to pull yourself up. I was hesitant about the ages of kids we had but it turned out really well! Here are my randomly ordered thoughts/tips: —This is a 1x/2x a summer, special event type place to me. Yes costs money. They sell out to keep crowds down. It was sold out our day and it was not too crowded. While 2 hours on the water was enough, I enjoyed going back out again to do my favorites again! And it’s a better deal $$. —Definitely book in advance if you want to go on a weekend. Read the website for weather related cancellations. —I am in my late 30s, athletic build, fairly active. I have always loved stuff like this. I was on the water for about 3.5 hours and did most all of the inflatables and LOVED IT! It is 2 days later now and for sure I feel muscles and parts of mt body I clearly haven’t used in a long time. To be expected. My friend felt like a beached whale and sometimes struggled pulling herself onto the structure. Be ready to use your upper body! —My 8 year old is short, strong, and flexible and she was on her own most of the time and had no problems doing most everything. My 5 year old, however, I had to stay with. He would get stuck/scared on things or fall in the water and not be able to pull himself out - even at the spots provided to get yourself up. He was able and willing to do a lot of things though and really enjoyed it!! Some things he was simply too short for and he didnt care. Overall I’d say know your kid’s level of abilities when coming here! If they’re 5-8ish and not super strong or agile, you’ll likely want to/have to stay with them. —Our group rented a picnic shelter. Seem great for 40-50 people. —We also rented a water cabana but hardly used it. It fits 8 people. The people that used it seemed to be small groups of adults. — You can bring in food and coolers. NO ALCOHOL though. You can lookup what food trucks will be there that day (we had a taco truck) and there are some snacks but I think there’s potential for more food. —fyi When you drive in you have to give your order number to an attendant (feels like chick fil a). —Definitely come before your time slot to drive in, get your stuff situated, and be ready to have fun!! —Beach chairs all said “reserved on them”. There are some places you can put your own beach chairs but it’s not a ton of space. Families definitely reserved 2 chairs/table and had many more than 2 people but it was fine. —The place is nice and clean - sand, sidewalks, boardwalk, splash pad. We were here beginning of June and it was mid 80s weather and the water was SO PERFECT. A little cold right when you get in but Refreshing!! —Bathrooms are one step up from porta potties but lined up like them as single stalls. There are two with showers and bigger but ours had standing water so it made changing somewhat difficult. Id recommend they put in some dedicated changing areas. —The 3-5 year old part is suuuuuper small. To me not worth it. And splash pad … sure go for it. Wouldn’t come for that though! —Staff were all super nice and friendly. Lifeguards were on the lookout and would blow their whistles about things so it made you feel like they really are watching. Someone got injured and they put her on a surfboard and helped her get to the medical trailer on-site. No idea what they have on the medical trailer (lifeguard/first aid? EMT? paramedic?) but it made you feel like they’re prepared for some people to get hurt. Pretty much everyone wipes out at least once. —It was super beautiful to just look around the quarry and float in the water. —Prime ages to me seem to be 10-25 who want to have fun and be adventurous! If you like water and trying some physical challenges (that you sometimes totally wipe out on), this place is for you!!!
Hopefully this helps some people trying to...
Read moreI went here with my daughter and her friends (13 yrs.old) and we had a blast. I was one of the few adults out on the course which was filled with kids mostly middle school to high school age kids. I thought the facilities was very nice and clean (it should be clean since it's new anyway). I really was impressed with the place, and I would go back and do it again. The reason for the 3 star rating is the lifeguards. I feel there were not enough lifeguards, and that the ones there were too young and inexperienced to handle rowdy older kids pushing younger kids in. The only time I heard the lifeguards save anything was if some kid was running up to the cliff jump, "stop running", or if someone was not wearing their lifejacket properly. I saw one little boy clinging to the side of the obstacle float crying. No one was around, so I went over to see what was wrong. He had pushed in by kids probably twice his age and he was scared. I have no problem with playing rough, but experienced lifeguards would identify if they were being rough with their friends or people unrelated to them. I feel that it is natural for a young lifeguard with limited experience to feel uncomfortable calling out another kid on the course close to their age for being too rowdy. Plus if someone got hurt their are plenty of places that the lifeguards can't see. That's why I feel they need more, older, and experienced lifeguards. I will also say that I told my girls that if they had any issues with the older boys that was being rowdy, to let me know. I did not think that boys that looked 15 to 18 would mess with little 13 yr old girls. But one did push a couple of my girls in and they told me. I'll just say that I gave him one and only one warning about messing with my girls. If it had happened again it would have gotten ugly. I say this to let you and the owners know there could be issues that could be avoided with more mature...
