SKI TRIP 25’ #skiing #snowboarding #michigan #snowrivermountainresort #fyp

This was my first time here and my family’s first time skiing. No hot tub as advertised , no fireplace in lodge ( said they couldn’t put it on die to it being not up to code) no night time skiing. No half day ski pass. Skiing ends at 4pm! Food service ends at 4. Main restaurant was closed. The line to get skis and boots was 1.5 hours. The workers are the rudest people i have ever met. My daughter was getting on the ski lift for her very first time and the bearded worker screamed at her and said if she didnt know how to get on the lift she shouldnt be there. It was her first time! By the end of our trip she was a pro but super embarrassing to her. I was talking to her about it and another family heard me and said that the same guy was so mean to them also. The guy i dealt with in the rental area was awful also. So short tempered and mad at me because i left my skis while i eating in the sky bar and the janitor put them away. He said i should know to put my rental skis in my car. This is my first time skiing and they didnt tell me that how would i know. This place is crazy expensive. The lodge is a dump and not as advertised. The bar down at the bottom of the hill was nice. Both the female bartenders were friendly and welcoming. I would not recommend this resort at all.

Jackson Creek Summit, aka Indianhead, is one of two ski destinations encompassed within Snowriver Mountain in Wakefield, MI. The second is Blackriver Basin, aka Blackjack. Snowriver Mountain was acquired by the owner of Lutsen Mountain in Lutsen MN and Granite Peak in Wassau, WI, Charles Skinner. This may not be new, news. I believe SRM is entering its third ski season with the Skinner family at the helm. What a treat they have been, last year in the debacle of a season it was, due to Ma Nature the high speed six place chair doubled the amount of runs possible in a day. Jack's restaurant provides a great menu to fuel its community. Although Jack's has become credit/debt card only, gratuity is automatically added to the final receipt. Cash only cats, don't get in a hiss, SRM provides a system to put your cash on a debit card. For the early season look, rental at JCS has been totally revamped, streamlining rent and setup to ski out fun. I will highly recommend SRM as your Midwest ski destination, I'm biased, keep them pointed downhill, ski within your ability, cause if you get hurt, it is I, and a well qualified ski patrol that will assist in your recovery. I'm looking forward to seeing you all at Jackson Creek Summit and Blackriver Basin. Pro Patrol

I am very disappointed in the ticketing process at the opening of the day. It seems that Snowriver takes it’s customers for granted as they have made no effort to improve the process over the last few seasons. It appears that customer satisfaction is not high on Snowriver’s priorities. They seem to not care that their customers start their day with a very negative experience. I pre-paid for my tickets online. However, every window that was market “online” was closed. In fact, out of all the windows present, only ONE was even open! There were 80 people in line, outside in the cold! There was one lady aimlessly wandering around with an ipad, asking if people had filled out the waiver. Not only had I prepaid online, I also completed the waiver online, so I went inside to guest services. There, I found only 50 people waiting in line, with only one person staffing the window. Improvements would se SO easy if Snowriver actually cared about their customers. The online waiver is buried on their web page. Make it pop out on the initial home page! Don’t just make it available, encourage people to use it. Then, STAFF ALL THE WINDOWS ! There is absolutely no excuse for any window to be closed at 9am. They all should be staffed and ready to serve customers. You may start to close windows when there are no lines, but at mountain opened, every single window should be open. This is a no brainer. With competitors like Big Powderhorn and Whitecap just a short distance away, you would think that you would be doing everything in your power to serve your customers and make every aspect of their visit a positive experience. It shocks me that I would even have to...

We had a great first day skiing at Snowriver Mountain Resort this past week. Unfortunately, our second day did not go as planned and I’m extremely disappointed in the management. I reloaded our initial card so that we had access to skiing the second day. Unfortunately, our card did not work and did not allow us on the chairlift. When I went to the window staff AND guest services to let them know, they told me they were having a technical issue and the only one that could help was the manager. They took my number and told me the manager would call me. I asked if I could ski while we were waiting and they said no. Unfortunately, the manager was busy with a ski patrol incident and never called us so we were unable to ski the entire day. When I was finally able to reach them, they refused to offer me a refund and only offered a credit good for one year. They let me know that there’s a policy on their website that states you have to reload a card 24 hours in advance. I was not aware of this and neither were the staff that I talked to at the window nor guest services.

We are five hours away from this ski location and won’t be able to use it this year and I’m not sure they will be open next year at this time. Many mistakes were made, and I’m extremely...
