Such a cool experience to see the actual missile! Make sure to checkout the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site Visitor Center first and learn all about the Missile history! Because when you come out to the actual middle sight there is some information by the bathrooms but not nearly as much as what’s at the visitors center! Make sure to checkout the information board by the bathrooms as it lists a phone number you can call for a guided tour! When you call the number it asks which stop you are at and to put in that stops numbers. Each stop 2 in total, has 12-13 # and the tour is so informative. Read moreThe Delta-09 Minuteman Missile site is the first of three stops on the drive east on I-90 from Rapid City to the Minuteman National Historic Site (visitor center). This is a self-guided tour of the ground site for the Delta-09 missile. There are several interpretive signs next to the parking lot (as well as clean pit toilets).
An audio tour is available by either calling the phone number listed on the signs or by clicking on the audio tour link on the park website. We strongly recommend listening to at least part of the audio tour.

Read moreI couldn’t find their hours of operation anywhere on their brochure or their website. And google only lists the time for the visitors center. We went on Monday but they were closed. Then I saw where google said they are open from Wednesday-Sunday. 8-4. So Wednesday we get up early and go. It was open like they said. But the delta 09 didn’t open until 9. Makes it hard to plan your trip or days when there is not hours listed or the places with multiple locations have different operating times.
