On the northwest portion of the park, this town sits north of the gravel road. There is a pull off for your vehicle - be nice and park in an organized manner. Once you have exited your vehicle, turn it off, stand still, and let the citizens re-emerge to do their thing. The kids will be kids and romp and play. The moms will be moms and scowl at visitors. If you step off the parking pull off, the moms and dads will get upset and bark at you. Soon the whole town will be barking! If you stroll through town the citizen will dive back into their homes. Read moreI always love to see some prairie dogs, but I was far more excited to see burrowing owls at this location. Yes, the owls were preying upon the prairie dogs, but it was nature at its best. Some sentiment for this location as another visitor I had spoken with at another pull off flagged me down as we were just talking about the owls. He was as excited as I was. Read moreThis was an amazing pull off that allowed us to walk among the prairie dogs. They see you coming and they start sounding the alarms. Amazing experience! You should note that there is no facility or staff here and you have to drive an unpaved road to get here. You should also note that we saw more prairie dogs on the way to this stop than at the actual stop. There has to be tens of thousands of these cute little animals in the area.
