Kayaking: Dropped in here and took out at Jackson Bridge (see my review there). To launch, you must enter Turkey Run State Park and walk a bit to get to the creek. Probably a couple hundred feet. It wasn’t a big deal for us, but does require you to carry your vessels downhill down a dirt path with some exposed tree roots. We parked on the side of the road and right by the covered bridge, we’re gone for several hours and had no issues when we returned to our truck. Because this launch area is right before Turkey Run it was more lively with other boaters then other stretches I’ve done. I can imagine it could get packed and maybe even a little frustrating in the middle of summer for someone like me who likes to avoid the crowds and people floating on rafts. You may be into that. You will go under the Turkey Run bridge which was fun for me. We had no problem bringing a cooler and enjoying ourselves. We hit a couple low points which scrapped the bottom, but nothing we couldn’t navigate out of. It was a good 4 hour stretch or so depending on how fast the river is moving and how actively you paddle. The river was going pretty well when we went in mid April. No log...

This place is definitely worth a visit. The bridge is well-maintained, and it is right off a road yet it is apart of east side of the trail system of Turkey Creek State Park. It's about a couple miles from the nature center with multiple ways to get there. There are lots of good trails to explore around the bridge. Under the bridge is an excellent place to see the area from a diffent view. Don't jump in the water, as it's not allowed, and...

Whereas the covered bridge was quite nice and the surrounding area picturesque, the bridge is out in the country with zero parking.... And stairs that lead down to it from the road.... With no parking signs scattered everywhere.... No place nearby to park either.... Seems to be a rather large gap for such an epic monument in the middle of the country that unless you're a local or canoeing down the river would be...

Who doesn't love a good covered bridge. Honestly I have only seen or been on a few. A couple near Brown County and then Potter's Bridge up in Noblesville. We made a point to take the Turkey Run trail over to Narrows. It was late fall when we were there, so the bright red exterior really stood out. There are great vantage points in, around, and underneath the bridge. A very cool spot to relax and take in the view

Oh, that VIEW! Beautiful spot along the eastern border of Turkey Run State Park. Connects to trails inside the park too. Minimal roadside parking but totally worth it if you can snag a spot. Walk across the bridge and thdn down just a few steps to see the huge foundational rock smoothed out over time. Hollowed recesses house the occasional bird. The fall colors reflected in the river are cherry on top!
