State park area at Buckeye Lake. The beach itself is small and can get pretty crowded. You are able to swim but the water looked pretty gross when we went so we chose not to. There are permanent restrooms which needed cleaned and restocked, they also didn’t have a shower or rinse area which makes getting the sand off difficult. We ended up filling a clean sand bucket and using that. There is a shelter area with tables but a large family has taken them all when we arrived so nobody else could use that area. It has playground equipment, boat launch, great views of the lake, areas to fish and plenty of parking. Would be a lot nicer if there was some clean up down. The area around the parking lot nearest the bathroom smelled like a dead animal which is worse on a 90 degree day in June. Bring chairs to sit and make sure you have a way to clean off. Also be sure to wear shoes when walking around there are a lot of bees and we also saw glass on the ground. Over all a decent place and would get better with some care and respect by those using the area.

Fairfield Beach is another state park area at Buckeye Lake. The beach itself is small but the area around the beach is what makes it popular. It has of course the beach, permanent restrooms, shelter house, playground equipment, boat launch, great views of the lake and plenty of parking. There also seems to be some improvements being made at Kimball Island.

Great views of the north bank, if you get there early in the morning or evening time you will see a bald eagle flying over the lake. Great access to the waters from a beach/park and a boat ramp with daytime docks beside. A lot of nice diners and bars on the lake to keep you having fun and staying full all day.
