Crater Lake — Attraction in Walpack Township

My family owned land and a cabin there before the US Government forced us to sell it. I spent many Summers there growing up and made some amazing memories. The lake is spring fed with crystal clear water. It is amazing how far you can see underwater. The remnants of the old beach area can still be made out where they had brought in tons of sand. Water is a bit cold. Lots of little fish. The path to get here by car or walking is tough. By car make sure you have an suv. And if its walking mAke sure you have everything you need for a long walk. I just went out for a drive today from near Philly, and found myself here by chance. I am so glad I did !!! Very isolated ,well today felt that way ,only a few others and when they left , oh the serenity hit me .peace and quiet! Clean water and warm.
