Amazing place, as its name High Point State Park; you will find yourself at a little height. High Point Monument is at 1,803 feet above sea level. I heard that this is the highest elevation in the state. The view is incredible and full of natural beauty. The place is clean and is so vibrant and stunning, Park is full of hiking trails, streams, waterfalls, Various trail, many parking lots, lakes to enjoy in water. The best way to admire the beauty is capture them in photos. Monument is a one of the attractions point for visitors. Incredible planned place to have fun with family or friends or love ones. I avoid to have food over there in COVID-19 but I think they have restaurants too. High Point offers: Natural hikes along with stream walks, Trails with various options, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, dogsledding mountain biking, horseback riding. (As per their website) Swimming (Please check the swimming schedule prior to your visit), bathhouse, food concession adjacent to the beach, Boating at Sawmill lake and steenykill lake. Fishing in High Point’s lakes streams. High Point State Park facilities are partially accessible for persons with disabilities. Best time to visit High point in May. One can drive to a parking area and then access the open platform of the monument to view the surrounding area. Location: Sussex County

March 2023. If you think NJ is just the Turnpike, head up to the Northwestern corner of the state. At an elevation of about 1,800 ft you can enjoy views west into Pennsylvania, north into New York state, and east across valleys of New Jersey. Dress warmly, the area of the monument is very open and can be windy. The property has numerous trails, including a section of the Appalachian Trail. In summer the lake is open to swimming at a designated beach area.

I’ve been coming here for 20 years, my family has been coming here for over 35 years! Always clean and amazing. Trumps any other state park/camping I’ve done. Nothing beats the scenery. Everyone is extremely respectful and there’s never crazy loud parties or anything off putting. Family friendly and the best spot to bring your friends or family

I drove for hours to get to the High Point for an epic summer sunset! DENIED! 30 minutes before sunset Dozens of guests were physically herded off the viewpoint by a uniformed attendant in an suv with a loud siren, flashing lights and obnoxious demands over a loudspeaker. I have seen many photos of sunset from that lookout. I guess you have to "pay" the right person to get to stay for the...
