Johnson County Fair Association — Attraction in Warrensburg

We traveled there for the Light the Night event with the Lanterns. Ticket prices were high ($48 per person) but we wanted the experience to decorate a lantern and send it in the night sky. It was too cold for this event!! Pick another month. The Event needs some tweaking. Most importantly People directing traffic!!! It was a free for all and paying $30 to park in Pasture that wasn't even level was whacky and dangerous for some vehicles. They made everyone wait until 9:15pm to do the Lantern drop. NOT after sunset like they said! And leaving was a complete nightmare! Honor system was complete pandemonium!!! It took us over an hour just to leave the event! No Police...No employees helping with vehicle congestion and various people trying to get to their cars, some were lost because it was dark and late and windy cold! --- no one wanted to allow others to get out or anything. A complete nightmare!!! Lantern release was fun, but it wasn't worth the shotty planning by whomever is in charge!! Do better for these events! Also, there was little to no merch like they said there would be. Also, waiting in line for hours for a coffee or food when only 4 places offered to such a big crowd. it was a fun event, but the weather was so cold! They said would release the laturns at dark, but no released them around 9:30 pm. They weather was very cold should have taken that into consideration and started earlier. The parking was a mess, when it ended had no one directing traffic so was at a dead stop. Went there to watch the Johnson County Mud Run . Great event put on by a very friendly and professional staff . A lot of very fast ( and a few slow lol ) trucks . If you have never been to a mud run you definitely need to check this one out ! A lot of gonna for a little money . Just $10 for adults kids (6-12) $5 and 5 and under are free ! That equals a great night of awesome entertainment for not much money ! Plus you get to be entertained by the announcer ( extremely funny...
