Great place for an easy family hike for all ages. Our tribe ranging from a 7 year old to an 80 year old completed this 2 mile loop around the lake. We kept it interesting by playing scavenger hunt for different plants and trees including huckleberries, English holly, methuselah’s beard and the Sitka tree bird apartments. The lake is right near a campsite so it’s perfect if you want to stay in a beautiful campsite and drive right by the lake to either go fishing, enjoy the scenery or even take the 2 mile trail around the lake. Which unfortunately I did not do that. But hoping to do it next time. You can pay the $30 for the annual state park permit or if you want to just use it for a day you can pay $5.
