My family and I spent the weekend camping and over all it was a beautiful place. The swimming beaches where clean and very child friendly, they had life jackets for those who needed one and every beach had a rescue response float and rod. The parks/playgrounds could use some upgrades as well as a couple of the shower houses, but over all still a very nice place! The team of staff do an AMAZING job keeping the park clean and well stocked. Staff was extremely friendly and respectful. The park seemed well patrolled and safe however there where a couple of problems along the way. (Staff took immediate action to resolve these problems) We had some extremely creepy guy approach our campsite asking if someone was there, when he was told no that no one there had that name we where a family group he proceeded to try and walk past us adults and towards the back part of our campsite where clearly only children where playing. The couple that had camp next to us fought everyday and every morning we'd get woken up to Yelling, cussing, throwing things, slamming things, threatening each other and trying to hit each other. There also was a problem with people speeding up and down the roads through the campsite. Even with those issues we encountered our family had an amazing experience And are extremely satisfied with the park and the staff. We definitely would love to...
Read moreJust camped memorial weekend at Truman, Buckridge sites. The campsight wasnt cleared except a tent area, had to get into weeds and poison ivy to set it up, couldnt sit around the fire pit, no spot to even walk or play horse shoes or typical camping games, if our kids had come wouldve been no where cleared to be, other kids that were there were all playing in the street. Went to bathhouse restroom...every stall was full of poo, no one had flushed it was disgusting. It states "hot showers" but the water was beyond cold, was ICE cold, little kids were crying when in there. The "quiet" hours rule consisted of our neighbor campsight partying and yelling till 2:30 a.m. not to mention trafic coming and going all dang night, headlights lit into our tent non stop after midnight. Dont know where the camp host was, never saw them at all except to come around the day we left to take the campsite tags down. (wonder if its their job to clear the sights and enforce their rules..??) been camping for 50 years, enjoy my tent and being outdoors but this time sucked! Had camped here for years and it was always great, after this weekend probably wont be back, was disappointing. (Kuddos to our usual spot, Watkins Mill State Park outside Kearney, its always weed free, very clean and quiet and the camp host always...
Read moreYou must call by 7 p.m. the day before in order for your reservation to go through. You cannot show up same day and expect to get into the park. I had difficulty with their website and getting through by 7 p.m. We stayed three nights at Space 90 and no one was around us. I can't believe the rate was only $17 to stay per night. There is a one-time reservation fee of $8.50. But that gives you water to fill and a dump to use at the end of your stay which is extremely clean and so are the bathrooms very well maintained. There was a water spicket right beside us so we were able to fill up our water tank and then dumped at the end of the stay. Electricity is the only hook up. The chiggers and ticks are crazy! Watch if you are going to hike off of the pavement on the designated trails. The park manager Luke was extremely helpful and nice and accommodating. He is located in the state cabin to the left as you come into the campground. He was able to give us much-needed information in regards...
