I was in the area and visited out of curiosity. The park is small, but has plenty of free parking. There is a well maintained grassy picnic area, a boat launch, a playground, and a couple stretches of sandy beach. One has sand and a large rocks. One side is a sandy and pebbly beach with lots of broken shells. There is a long sandbar that you can walk on when tide is out. For safety a warning message sounds when tide is rising. The water looked and smelled fresh and clean. A light house is visible across the inlet. The park is located in a suburban residential area. Town looks charming. Would have explored its main street if I had time. My goal was to spend quiet time by the water, and it was perfect for that. It would be a great place to bring young kids to picnic, play, and swim. I was there on a nice warm weekday in mid September and there were a number of people in the park. Don't know how crowded it would be in summer, but given the location it might not get as crowded as...

The only complaint I have is the bathrooms are always locked every year when I come to celebrate the 4th of July on the beach. It's also full of broken shells everywhere! You can't ever walk around barefoot. The water isn't the greatest to swim in. So if you want to go swimming don't come to this beach. Nice for kayaking, beautiful views around the bay and I love the playground for the kids. And dogs are allowed.

Update: July 5th, 2024- They are now charging $10 to get in the park before 5pm if you're from out of state. $3 for Warwick, RI residents. There's now porter potties in front of the locked public bathrooms for everyone to use. They were to smelly or gross after using them later at night. Still finding broken glass and lots of broken shells on the beach though. Its still a great spot to watch all the fireworks going off all around the bay every July 3rd while having a picnic with family and friends. It's also still...

Attention non-RI residents: Conimicut Point is not even close to what the actual beaches in our state exemplify.

This place certainly isn't my first, second, third or tenth choice of RI "beaches" to visit, however; the proximity to home makes it appealing on the days I'm flying solo and want to set up my chair in some sand to soak in some sun for a couple of hours.

Up until the summer of 2021, I've never had to pay to park here. Now they're charging $10 for non-residents of Warwick. Cash only to boot.

If I wanted to pay to park I'd drive an additional 20 minutes south and pay $7 to park and enjoy an ACTUAL beach that is beautiful... you know, the kind where you can safely walk on the sand and not step on broken shards of glass or trash, and go swimming in water that won't make you sick with some rare...

First time visiting and I’ll definitely come back. It’s not a massive beach but it’s plenty big to spread out and not feel complied. There’s a nice park for kids; plenty of trees to hang a hammock. The beach sections are parted so you can choose your section but you can basically walk the shore and walk the whole beach. If you prefer to hang on the grass, there’s plenty spots and the grass is beautifully groomed. Lots of parking. No lifeguards. Minimal seaweed. Clear water. You can fish or just relax. Come alone, with friends or family. It’s a beautiful spot. You can enjoy your liquor or smoke your weed. Only reason I’m giving it 4 stars. Parking for Warwick residents is $5, the bathroom was gross, and there was very very minimal trash but if you’re paying, they can do better to clean. Enjoy!

Conimicut will always be a beautiful spot in Rhode island and this review could not do it justice... Just check online or with a local as to whether it's safe to swim, as bacteria levels are inconsistent and often too high. the single rest room in the park is hardly ever cleaned, though everything else in the park has been renovated and repaired.

Beautiful park complete with sandbar, lighthouse, playground and seaglass! Although the bathrooms are locked in the off-season my experince was delightful. The warning sign on the sandbar to beware of rip currents and quick changing tides was a bit off putting but I stayed aware and had a lovely walk.
