This Place might look like it's empty but don't let this Historic Landmark Museum Fool you. Nestled on the Mother Road of Route 66 in Oklahoma is Seaba Motorcycle Museum full with MANY cool Treasures. This is the former Seaba Filling Station built in 1921, five years before Route 66 was a national highway. ~ Thanks to Jerry Ries and Gerald Tims, who spent two years restoring the building to its original state, which opened in 2010. Seaba Motorcycle Museum is now a restored building that was in operation waaaay before Route 66 was commissioned. Since opening they have tried to find a DX Station and other Route 66 artifacts to display, not only does this Museum hold some VERY Original vintage pieces but it is also home to NOT one but 2 Motorcycles that were used the Captain America Movie. They also have some really cool Evil Knievel Memorabilia and they also carry T-shirts, Souvenirs and old vintage cars and trucks. ~ They also have a 1997 Triumph Bonneville and a 1999 Excelsior Henderson, each of which still are in their shipping crates. There are not many Harley-Davidsons, although they have a 1942 Harley Flat Head military bike. There are dozens of classic racing and competition bikes. If you ever find yourself on Route 66 stop on in at Seaba Motorcycle Museum you won't be...
Read moreThis place really captures the essence of what it's about to travel on Route 66. A quick stop at roadside museum or attraction to gain a little knowledge and get a good photo op is at the heart of the Route 66 travel experience. The Seaba Station Motorcycle Museum fits this billing perfectly. Entire visit took 45 minutes. The museum is located in a cool old service station. Lots of unique motorcycles especially if you are into motocross. Really enjoyed this stop on our trip.
Deceptively small on the outside yet so extensive and varied collection on the inside. This is a fascinating place even for non-motorcycle enthusiasts because of the incredible history contained within and so perfectly laid out and labeled. And, to top it off is an out building purported to be the first plumbed toilet in the state...
Read moreFind this place & be in awe. It has the oily, garage smell that should tickle any motor lover -- bike or car. The souvenir section has more than any other location on Route 66, and reasonably priced. Licence plate frame was $14; every other "find" was $20. Excellent quality Route 66 mugs. Wish I had bought more. The motorcycle displays are jammed & incredible. From $100,000 Hondas to Captain America futuristic designs, there just had to be an Italian Vespa scooter just like the one my Italian companion had in Sicily many years ago. Drop in, and be ready to spend more time than you planned. It's a hodge-podge of memories....
