Vosburg Neck is absolutely gorgeous! It is located in Tunkhannock along the beautiful Susquehanna River. Vosburg Neck is nearly 670 acres, and has 8 miles of trails! There are plenty of things to do such as hunting and hiking. When I first saw this State Park, I was wondering why it was only one road. Although, I then realized that it was because the main part of this park is the hiking! There are many trails inside of the neck that have pretty scenery. One of the trails close to the river has some beautiful wooden bridges and benches that go over little runoffs from the Susquehanna. If you like camping, there is a campground at the tip of The Neck called Lackawanna Campground. I know there is another one at the beginning of the park, although I’m not sure what it’s called. There are many beautiful views throughout the park. When you are driving down the main road, there are many views of the surrounding mountains. If you go down to were the boat launch is, you can sit down on the bench and enjoy the beautiful view of the Susquehanna River. While you’re there, if you go down to where the land meets the water and scream into the mountains, you will hear an echo! It is very funny and I would recommend trying it. I also love going pheasant hunting here. I have shot a bird every time I have went here. If you get there at the right time, you will be sure to shoot a Pheasant. The only problem I have with pheasant hunting here, is that there is so much thick brush. When you are trying to chase a pheasant, it is almost impossible to see in certain areas. There are so many pickers and branches which makes it hard to see and walk through. Other than that, it’s great for hunting. Although pay attention because there are many different safety zones where it is ILLEGAL to shoot birds within those areas. Another tip is that when you are driving down the main road, you will see a red barn next to the road that leads to the boat launch. There is a map of the neck on there. There is also a topographic map and passport stamps located within a box right next to it. Although it is almost empty, so they might have to restock it. If you go here, I’m sure you are guaranteed to...
Read moreVosburg Neck State Park is awesome! If you’re into trail running or just need to spend some time outdoors, definitely check out “the vos” (my partner and i have shortened the name because we talk about it a lot). We went two days in a row after we found it!
We just moved back to the area after living in Seattle for years and we were worried we wouldn’t find green spaces that we truly loved. This park has beautiful views and plenty of trails. Cant wait to see what it looks like in the spring and summer time!
We couldn’t believe it wasn’t...
Read moreWent hiking here w family and dogs. Did Vista and Howlin Down trails. Plenty of incline to reach the lookout point but if you want an easier option there are flat trails along river. It was really nice. I didn't ride trails but as experienced MTB rider I'd rate the two trails we did as blue. The park rates them as expert but while there is sustained climbing the grades are not extreme and there are not many technical features to justify black rating. Still would be...
