Its kind 0f tucked away. And usually pretty quiet. The parking lot is not even a blocks distance from the main road. There's a small section of public beach to the right of the dock. Then signs posted private beach. To the left is a bigger section of beach then a smaller dock. Then another section of beach with an attached per area. There's basketball courts beyond that. There are concrete steps to both sections to the left and when the tide is our you can go under the big dock. There are quite a few large boulders along the beach you can sit on and take in the s9ghts around you ..fishermen on the dock. Sailboats in the water.. Cute houses across the water that seem to almost be climbing the mountain. There's usually seagulls and at least one eagle that I've witnessed steal. From the gulls. And they really get upse6 over that and chase the eagle through the sky screaming in frustration . but the seagulls here in Allyn seem to be. More "friendly" and don't mind just hanging out with people. They will catch food and bring it to you laying in front of you. Then will get in the water and just casually float around watching you and the meal as the sort of talk to you like1 you should know what it means or know what to do. the behavior seems intentional with effort to interact with you. Maybe they are trying to start up a trading of food items. But oh God. DON'T EVER EAT ANYTHING THEY BRING YO.U..YIKES THERE IS A bathroom building with 5 or 6 private bathrooms. Theyre pretty big.. There's usually at least 1 open. When there's aLot of people they open them all but as the Sun sets they close most of them. The park closes at 10 pm. There's not a gate but there is security and 9fficers that are nice to remind you of the park hours. And they are nice but need to clear the property. There's beautiful rocks and there's picnic tables along the edge of the lot .you park right up to them.. There is a burger place right across the street and a gas...
Read moreI don't know what counts as a port, but they do have a long single dock and a boat ramp. I was impressed with the park around the area. There is a large Pavilion for shade, several large trees, an open grassy area, some picnic tables, a charcoal grill spot, a big fire spot, a small playground (the kids there looked like they were having fun), what looks like a rose garden perhaps, a little pergola, even a giraffe shrubbery! The parking area is a little strange. The bathrooms are a little sketch. A tiny sink and no paper towels when I was there. The sink makes the floor wet, but the toilet was relatively clean and flushing and smells...
Read moreIt's a pity the water immediately surrounding Allyn's waterfront is so toxic. It's barely a wide spot in the road... someone (or several someones) must have a faulty septic system.
Other than that, it's a standard small-town park, right on the water. There's a playground, a dock with on-boat camping facilities, a shelter-house with picnic tables, and a couple grills. It's not fancy, but you can have a cookout there, with a decent number of attendees. There's parking for approximately 30 vehicles. I guess i should be happy there's anything public at all, with how conservative...
