We stayed in the campground and it ended up being our favorite place we stayed during our roadtrip. We could see the ocean from our site and it was a vibe. The scenery was gorgeous. The bathrooms wete clean and tidy. There were showers and I think they were free use push button ones, but I'm not completely sure bc we didn't use them. We had a water spigot right next to our site which was awesome. We stayed in campsite #20. The only weird thing is that they lock the gate to the park (which also locks you out of the campground) at 10pm. We went on a drive and got back around 9:30pm, and there was a ranger waiting with the gate shut. He was weird about letting us in even though it wasn't 10pm and we were staying in the campground. I also think there should've been something written clearly when making the reservation, bc this was the only site we got to before 10pm on our roadtrip and we would've been stressed and confused if we had gotten there after the gate was locked. I think that if you're going to have a campground within a state park, you need to make the campground accessible at all hours. I understand closing the gate for the park, but it shouldn't negatively affect the campers.

My mom and I really enjoyed this campground. There were lots of trees and vegetation between the sites which allowed for privacy. Reservations are needed and it fills up fast. You can book as far as nine months in advance. Easiest way to reserve is online. There are two day use areas. The North day use area, along the Saratoga Passage, has parking to use the picnic tables/restrooms which are located on the bluff. To get to the beach, you have to walk down a steep flight of stairs and the beach is classic Washington rockey. The second day use area on Lowell Point has the parking closer to the water with a boat launch. Also rocky but there are picnic tables with a great view of the water. Both require a Discover Pass or something equivalent to park. Bathrooms were clean.

Nice place if all you care for is clams. We went here for camping last weekend. It was quiet among some old Western RedCedars and Douglas Firs. There are quite a few wildflowers blooming and quite a few birds chirping and singing. Our biggest disappointment was there was really no beach to walk onto. The beach is made up of large pebbles and rocks so it is impossible to stroll on it. On the northern side of the island, Cama Beach was submerged under high tide so we could not even see it. The campground was not well maintained either. The site was uneven and not entirely clean. Restrooms were a long walk. In general it was a disappointing beach state park but a beautiful park if I consider only trees and wildflowers and birds. There are lots of better places to go to in Western Washington.

Absolutely loved our stay at Camano Island State Park camping area! The spacious sites were perfect for our tent, and we appreciated the peaceful atmosphere with respectful campers all around. The toilets were spotlessly clean, and the heated showers were a nice touch. The rangers were incredibly friendly and helpful. With plenty of trails and beach access nearby, there was never a dull moment. Plus, the on-site garbage disposal made cleanup a breeze. Just a heads up to fellow campers, we encountered a situation where someone who seemed high on drugs was in the women’s bathroom at 3am, so stay cautious. Overall, a fantastic experience and we can't wait to return!

I visited Csmano State Park last weekend and had a wonderful time. The park is beautiful and peaceful, with stunning views of the Puget Sound and the mountains. The park has a variety of activities for everyone, from hiking and biking trails to boating and fishing. I especially enjoyed exploring the rocky beach and finding shells and crabs. The park also has a nice picnic area and a kitchen shelter that can be rented for events. The park is easy to access from Seattle, and there is plenty of parking available. I would highly recommend Camano Island State Park to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in nature. It is a hidden gem in Washington State.
