Lovely leisurely walks and hikes along the river. In the summer they mow pretty wide and flat paths that there are trails breaking off from towards the river and through the trees. In the winter the river rises quite high and changes the riverfront layout (and often the trails). Every time I park in the main lot, I have to cross a stream that I can never keep my feet dry from. For that and the river rocks I like a good pair or water shoes. You can walk along the river and find many secluded spots, often even on hot days, although it is a bit more crowded on the weekends, you can usually find parking.

It's a nice area with trails going to the Snoqualmie River and a pond/wetland area, crossing the little creek can be muddy and we didn't wanted to get wet feet so we went the other way, you can also access the river area from the pull out after the bridge on NE Carnation Farm Road, less muddy. There were only a few people there on a slightly wet Saturday morning, so it was mostly quiet, you can hear the road from the trails but when there aren't any cars, then you can hear the river, birds and frogs. There's not much water in the river at the moment but it's still beautiful.

Excellent nature preserve. There is parking for about a dozen vehicles and restroom facilities. There are several interpretive signs. There is a pond where we watched a River Otter for several minutes. There is a narrow over grown loop trail that is fum to follow along the bend in the river. Beautiful views of the river. Very special place.
