Just a short way outside Belfair WA where groceries, food, gas (both refined and brewed) are available. There are a number of pull thru trailer parking spots. Access to the 4X4 trails is across the road. It's a working forest, so the views are not exactly unadulterated nature. The trails offer a variety of difficulty levels ranging from forest service type roads to some sick rock gardens. The signage is OK, but could be better. Even with the onX Offroad app, I seem to manage to get off my planned track a few times. You may need to download maps to navigate offline as cell service is spotty at best. During the week, you may not see many people. Weekends will have more traffic, but I've never seen it super crowded. Note that some of the more challenging trails can be pretty tight squeezing between trees or stumps. Low speed, full lock turns in my Sasquatch, 2-dr Bronco are not uncommon. In a few spots in the trees, I've had less than an inch clearance on either side of folded mirrors. Wide stance and/or long wheel base vehicles might require more thought on approaches in certain places. Some lift and a rear locking axle are useful on more challenging trails. Note that it can be amazingly dusty in the middle of summer dry spells. In the winter, there can be large areas of...

We need these places, but people need to do what the posted signs say. Trash...pack it in, pack it out. I have never been anywhere that was so gross & dirty. We took 2 days picking up other peoples garbage (and still didn't get it all). We saw 1 other person picking up trash while we were there. A DNR worker saw me picking up the trash & asked me if I wanted to give it to her. That was nice. Then we didn't have to pay to get rid of someone else's garbage. There was a moto trail race on the weekend & one evening right at dusk a big truck pulling a big trailer with a 4x4 vehicle on it came racing through the parking lot fishtailing his loaded trailer. A few people went out & tried to explain to him that there were kids present & he could of killed one of them. Let alone...spraying rock all over could of hit someone or one of our RV's. It can get very scary out there, but also, lots of fun to be had! Lets all do our part & keep these places clean & safe so they don't...

This place is close to Seattle and kids can have ride around trail and second parking (?) next to main parking lot. First time experience a few years was great. We got to see Milky Way at night. But we just went there last night. A large group of people were so rude and played music too loud. I asked them to turn down and they said they’d been there for days and it was ok (to do so). We couldn’t stand the noise and decided to pack our camping at 9:30 and went home in Seattle. So disappointed. I saw park ranger during the day but for short moment they turned down but the turned it back up at night. What’s about camping in National Forest Park like that? Not their...

This place is great! Went there on a Wednesday after work. It had been raining so it made for a nice muddy experience. There are plenty of 4 x 4 trails to explore. The degree of difficulty ranges but there are some pretty tough trails for stock Jeep. There are a few that I couldn't get through but for the most part I had a great time. I'm not from the area, and didn't realize that you need a Discovery Pass in new order to use the park. Spent about 1.5 hours there and had a really great time. Definitely recommend a visit!
