Hansville Greenway — Attraction in Washington

I've visited Buck Lake several times with my family. At the park area you'll find a nice size parking lot, picnic tables, a covered area with a couple picnic tables, a sand volleyball court, a clean and serviceable restroom (a separate men's and women's), a large garden, and of course the lake. If anyone is interested in swimming in the lake there are a handful of life jackets for anyone's use. You'll want to go rinse off afterwards, to reduce the possibility of getting swimmers itch. I figured I'd just address the trails separately below. There are many well marked and maintained trails throughout the area with signage along the way. There are walking trails as well as horse trails. The two are clearly marked so have no fear of getting trampled. Haha. If you're not good with directions or you have trouble with memory recall, I recommend you grab a map off the reader board at the trailhead. There are miles of trails, many with raised lookout platforms to observe wildlife. Binoculars or a spotting scope will come in handy at those viewing areas. Some previous visitors have placed painted rocks in nooks and crannies along the trail. A great I spy game for the kids to enjoy while on your hike. There is an unrelated, but added bonus when making the trip out to the lake; the gas station right up the road has the cheapest gas in Western Washington (probably literally, but at the very least the cheapest in...

The Hansville Greenway is one reason I moved to this area. How blessed we are to have so many miles of wooded trails just minutes from our homes. I walk the Greenway every day, rain or shine. The only time I avoid the trails is during very windy storms. But shortly after the storms, I'm out there again, kicking fallen branches off the trail so no one trips.

Great place for adventures in the forest with the grandkids and also take several easy hikes on the well maintained trails! It's a must do with the family while their here.
