Havens Garden — Attraction in Washington

A very good playground with multiple things for handicapped children and a great view of the river, including fishing pier. Just across the road is a boat slip. There are swings, slides, merry go round and climbing tower that also has ramp and steps. Swings and slides both have a big kid and little kid version, as well as baby-and-parent co-swings. Playground is fenced on only 2 sides so little children will need to be watched closely as the 4 lane road is not far away. There is also a couple shaded gazebos with tables for parties or sitting, lots of bench seating scattered throughout playground equipment for watchers, and bathrooms a short walk away..bathrooms are summer months only. Place for children on the Washington waterfront to burn off some energy. Multiple playsets with climbing features, slides, and swings available. There is also a specialized swing that appears to accept a wheelchair. It is fenced in from the standard equipment and looks to require a call and coordination with staff to use it. There is a covered picnic area and public restrooms available onsite.

WORD OF CAUTION: This is on the water and there is only a rope separating the playground from the water (about 30-40 feet from the playground equipment). Wonderful, clean, spacious park. Perfect for eating out in the morning sun. The picnic benches are positioned in a way that you can enjoy a meal from a nearby restaurant while overlooking the beautiful water. All the while shielding you and your meal from the blazing summer sun. I love it here. Just adjacent from the seating area is a water fountain if you forgot a drink for your meal. And within walking distance is a restroom that is very clean and has a wonderful smelling soap dispenser. Coming out of the restroom you are greeted with a perfectly winding walkway that at the end rewards you with a swing-set! I love it here. 5 stars...
