We visited Hightower Cellars as a part of our exploration of the local Red Mountain area, as we had never been to the region before (normally we go to Walla Walla). We found Hightower to be fairly decent, with friendly service and decent wines. We enjoyed the patio, but none of the wines really grabbed us as so outstanding that we had to buy some. We were, for the most part, left alone to enjoy the porch and our wines. This would have been perfectly nice for most, but I had been spoiled by our stop at Fidelitas and was really looking forward to chatting with our server about the region and wines. She was kind and good at her job, so I think my expectations had just been set too high. I mostly didn't enjoy being limited to only 3 pours in the tasting, which could only be offset by a $60 purchase. This is a bit steep compared to other places in the region, and in Walla Walla.
