Hindu Temple & Cultural Center — Attraction in Washington

We went to Hindu temple Bothell on occasion of Ganesha chaturthi. Temple is very beautiful, spacious and clean. Pooja started 30 minutes late after the muhurat time. Priest who was chanting mantras and saying katha (story) didn’t seem knowledgeable person. He did it very unwillingly and looked like had no interest in all process. My husband is from Mumbai and he was so enthusiastic about Ganesha chaturthi but after going there we felt really sad. Priests are only interested in people who are giving money and doing special poojas. They don’t even know the prayers very well. My only request to priests is : it’s a divine place. People come here for worshiping , seek some peace and enjoy our beautiful culture. Please don’t just make it all...

We visited the temple for Darshan on Saturdays. Beautiful idols of lord Sri Venkateswara, Goddesses Padmavathi and Andaal (Godadevi) in Blackstone (salagrama) and Garudalvar before the lord are very beautiful and devine. Navagrahas, Ganapati. Muruga, Siva,Sakthi, Saibaba ,SitaRamaLakshmanaAnjaneya,,Srikrishna, Kamakshi, Ayyappa are also kept for worship in an orderly and nicely adorned with flowers etc. We attended Sanipradosha and Skandha Abhisheka etc. This temple is a must visit for Hindus who reside or visit Seattle or nearby areas. Very poor lighting for Diwali, it seems they had no interest to spend any time, effort or energy into the lighting arrangement and they displayed no interest at all in celebrating our culture for this holiday. Very disappointing, we had to travel and worship at another temple that was more dedicated and interested in our Holiday. Such a shame, the priest has also rejected beautiful elaborate garlands made out of freshly harvested marigold flowers for the deities, when they've previously accepted these on multiple occasions.
