Aside from some brain dead idiots attempting (poorly) to scrawl swastikas on the rock, this was a really cool stop! Right off the highway with a very short walk up to the grotto, this is an ideal spot to stop and stretch your legs. Has a very pretty view of the river and the surrounding woods are lovely. I think kids would love it as we don't get to see many cave like structures day to day. For the claustrophobic, don't worry it's open on both ends and huge inside!

Interesting shallow caves into a bluff near the road. There is also a picnic shelter and vault toilet. Sadly the grounds aren't well cared for despite being a sacred site for the local Kalispel Tribe. There was trash and graffiti and it looked like it might be a hang out for local teens at night. Wasps bothered us during lunch in the picnic shelter. Still it was well worth the side trip from Highway 20 to see it.

This was an easy little hike to some interesting caves and outcroppings. The trail was fairly steep but not bad or strenuous, and it has a railing. We didn't go above the caves because the trail turns into a 45 degree angle and it was really wet and slippery. It's pretty far out there so we also hit up South Skookum Lake trail and made it a pretty full afternoon.

Picturesque drive up Le Clerc along the river. Keep your eyes peeled for buffalo (don't worry, they're fenced in). The hike up to the caves is short, but might be a little steep for the elderly or very young. In July there are ripe berries to sample on the way up. The large cave is really cool! Rich history there. I wish people would not carve into the walls: the act is disrespectful and immature. If you want to immortalize your visit, take a picture of yourself and share it to your friends on social media. The rest of us don't care that you were there. The kids love to climb the big boulders near the parking area. The vault toilets are as to be expected. A couple of picnic tables under the pavilion make a nice place to chill and snack. All in all a positive experience which we will continue to make a yearly...

Take flashlights as it can be dark in the Grotto & you'll want to explore. Both I & another in our group are physically disabled & we were both able to make it to the top of the trail without issue. That was awesome, because the lake view from inside the grotto was worth the walk. It was awe inspiring to think of how the area looked & was used in the past. I'd give Manresa 5 Stars, but a number of dbags have spray painted areas of the stone & that ish gets me triggered. Be respectful or stay in your mom's basement until she's done...
