Decided to take advantage of the beautiful April weather and headed out for our first camping trip of the year here. We lucked out with it being their opening weekend, campground was maybe 50% full and FCFS, we ended up staying in the upper loop site 13. Large site could easily fit a couple of tents, still had a decent view of the lake! Pros: Campground location is right on the lake, playground, swim area, boat launch, flush toilets and showers. Water and electricity hookups in every site. Lower loop sites are right on the water! Cons: No privacy between sites, expensive ($78 for two nights!), more of an RV campground than tent camping. Can hear HWY 12 at night time. During the day there was heavy machinery running VERY close to the upper loop, maybe expect construction noise this summer? No luck bank fishing. Overall I’d recommend this campground early spring and late fall. IMO it’s more for RV camping and boaters... Not sure I’d recommend it at all during peak season, sites are very close together! And seems dayuse area can get extremely busy!

It's nice, good launch ramp, can be busy on weekends, or any sunny day but overall during the week it's free and not many people there. Bathrooms wheelchair friendly were clean n smelled like it, not bad for an out house style latrine. Playground, swim area, neat clean and is kept up well . No lifeguards on duty as far as I could tell. Family friendly with mayfield lake store real close by. It will have the basics, fish gear, mainly it's a beer n grocery, picnic item kind of place. Campgrounds that are at the waters edge. RV hookups, tents also work. If your looking for a spot call ahead in summer season. It can get crowded for peak holiday weekends. Great time to be had all over this place. A little planning n pre calling could save some pain. Have fun!! Recreate responsibly!! Woop woop. Peace, hair, love!!!

Good lake for swimming. The swim area is roped off and clearly marked. It is a large swim area so people aren't right on top of each other. The ground in the water is pretty rocky, so swim shoes are helpful. There is a nice playground for younger kids, too. Bathrooms are right up the small hill and someone opened a coffee stand near the park which is AWESOME! The only negative thing is the goose poop. There is a lot of it and some of it is so large you'd almost think it was from a dog - but it isn't.

Mayfield Lake Park Review

We absolutely love Mayfield Lake Park and spend many weekends here during the summer camping in our little tent and chasing muskies. The staff is always friendly, professional, and hardworking, and they truly go above and beyond to make every visit enjoyable.

The park is always spotless — from the campsites to the bathrooms and park areas — and you can tell the staff takes pride in keeping it that way. On this trip, we came across an injured feral cat near our site. Skyler responded immediately and professionally, setting a trap to help the cat. My son was able to safely get the cat into the cage, and the staff took it to an animal sanctuary. We were so impressed by how quickly and compassionately they handled the situation.

Another example of their dedication happened when we accidentally left soap in the shower the night before. Ben was quick to check if it had been found (unfortunately, someone had walked off with my husband’s men’s Dove soap), but we appreciated his effort and quick response.

We drive an hour and a half from our home to spend time at this beautiful lake, and it’s always worth the trip. The staff truly deserve recognition for their dedication, hard work, and kindness. Mayfield Lake Park will always be one of our favorite places to relax, fish, and...
