Hello, I just wanted to pass along a few concerns and issues I had during this process and on our wedding day yesterday. When we first met with a person from your establishment to discuss our wedding day, we were thrilled and liked what was offered and was very excited about our decision in going with your venue. While our wedding was absolutely beautiful and enjoyable, there were many instances that were highly unprofessional and extremely disappointing. First of all, when we made arrangements to finalize our payment and ask final questions, we introduced ourselves to Patricia, and the first thing she said was "Oh, I forgot you were coming." This is not something you want to hear when discussing your big day. When we asked questions, we were met with not many answers and had to pretty much figure it out ourselves. When it came to the rehearsal dinner, we were told you would close by 6 so we can start decorating and rehearse, there were still people drinking when we needed to rehearse even after I went to Patricia and said they need to be asked to leave, it took my father to go to them and ask them to please leave. Even then, they still only went to the back patio to drink when we were trying to decorate. We then move to the wedding day when it is already stressful enough, I am getting ready in the manor house and Patricia is just walking through, even though we paid for this venue to get ready, any of us could have been undressed or having a sentimental moment, so that was highly unprofessional. Then Patricia closes off the second floor even though we paid for the second floor. Then we get to the reception and the wrong beer was being served and not the one we picked out that we specified so many times with you. I honestly expect some type of a refund or accommodation at this point. Yes, our wedding was beautiful, but we paid a lot of money to your establishment to provide a service and you knew none of the details of our wedding and acted highly unprofessional and it was extremely disappointing. I hope you can learn from this to be better for future couples who are trusting you with their big day. For reference, Patricia is...
Read moreStunning vineyard and incredible wine! I got married here this past June and it was a magical day. With the wedding package, you get the vineyard to yourself for the whole day. It is such a picturesque place to get married. We also rented the old historic house for our wedding party to stay in for the whole weekend. Definitely a necessity since the venue is 20 minutes away from the nearest town and any hotels. The whole venue is perfect for a rustic wedding aesthetic. Lindsay, who coordinated the contracts and who I communicated with, was lovely and kind. The vineyard is not open during the week, so sometimes communication was slow. I was surprised on the day of our wedding, no one from the vineyard was present (a part from the bartenders). We had a few issues come up that would've nice to workout with venue staff, but we are easygoing people and made it work. It is the most affordable wedding venue I could find in the general STL area. There were a few extra costs like the wedding arch and linens, but those are minuscule in the grand scheme of things.
I would definitely recommend visiting the vineyard for wonderful wine and cheese boards on the weekend or if you are looking for a stunning venue for...
Read moreMy son and his new bride just had their wedding reception at McKelvey Vineyards and it was absolutely beautiful! June 5th was unexpectedly warm this year, but the breeze was so nice on top of the hill and the pavilion more than met our needs. The wine was delicious, the service friendly and inviting, and the vineyards just lovey. We rented Steeple View Manor for the weekend as well and fell in love with the accommodations. The old stone manor is impeccably restored. The kitchen is fully stocked and we so enjoyed the beautiful patio area. We could not have been happier with our experience at McKelvey Vineyards! We will...
