This trail is actually called Mays Creek trail when looking on the all trails app. Not sure why it's called Reiter foothills here on Google. Decided to give this trail a try as we didn't want to hike busy Wallace falls with a million other people on a beautiful sunny Saturday. I am SO GLAD we picked this one. We were the only car in the lot when we arrived and we were the only ones on the trail the entire time. It was so peaceful. Gorgeous trail that winds through a once logged area, there is only one area that you have to go through that is fully cleared from logging and it looks like you loose the trail due to all the branches etc but you’ll see you just head straight towards the woods on the other side of the clearing. 10/10 gorgeous vista view of the cascade valley as well as many waterfalls/streams to cross and enjoy.

I really don't want to give this five stars because then other people will start showing up, But this really is one of my favorite trails. It winds gently up through the trees and at the top gives you a lovely loop that you can do clockwise or counter, either way is pleasant and if the clouds aren't obscuring the view you'll have a lovely valley Vista with Mt Index behind. It's great that you put your doggy's poop in a bag. But, that's only half the task, please take that bag home with you and throw it in the trash, don't just leave it on the trail.

Planned on doing big loop...ended up doing .5 loop instead..guess I missed a turn aka..not clear trail markings but the endless wild black berries at the trailhead made it worth it. Delish!

This is an amazing close in trailhead bringing you into the hills with nice vistas. The trail is well built and traverses lively second growth forest.

Unfortunately you'll have to enjoy it soon because the area is going to be decimated by clear-cutting.

This treasure is about to disappear,...
