Oh wow, this review is long overdue! I feel awful for the delay—work has been absolutely hectic—but leaving this review has been on my mind since the moment we left Silvara. There was no way I was going to forget, because the experience we had, thanks to one incredible person, was truly unforgettable.
That person is Tamera.
From the moment we arrived, Tamera made us feel welcome in a way that felt personal, warm, and completely effortless. She wasn’t just knowledgeable and accommodating—she was delighted to provide an amazing experience for our large group, which is something special in itself. So many times, when you’re with a bigger party, service can feel rushed or impersonal, but with Tamera, it felt like we were old friends. Her energy, kindness, and enthusiasm were absolutely contagious. Conversations with her were fun, engaging, and uplifting, and honestly—I left wishing we could be friends!
Now, let’s talk about the wine.
I’ve been a wine lover since I was 19 (I’m 35 now) and have done tastings at wineries all over the state, country, and internationally. I’ve had a lot of great wine, but the selection at Silvara truly stood out. I tend to favor reds, but most of our group preferred white wines—specifically dry, non-sweet options. Tamera listened to everyone’s preferences and brought out a selection that fit the bill perfectly. Even as someone who doesn’t usually reach for white wine, I was impressed.
Then we moved on to the reds, and this is where I really fell in love. The Cabernet Sauvignon was delicious—full-bodied, rich, and beautifully balanced. But then Tamera brought out the Syrah. Oh. My. God. It was the only Syrah on their menu, and let me just say—when a winery chooses to carry only one Syrah, it has to be exceptional. And this one? Absolutely phenomenal. So smooth, so deep, so perfectly crafted. I have a serious collection of Syrahs and Cabernet Sauvignons at home, and this one earned a spot among my most treasured bottles. I ended up buying two—one to enjoy in the near future and one to age for a truly special occasion. And because the Cabernet was also outstanding, I grabbed two of those as well.
Beyond the wine itself, the experience of tasting it in such a beautiful setting, with such an amazing guide in Tamera, made it all the more special. She didn’t just pour wine—she curated an experience that was equal parts fun, relaxing, and memorable.
Tamera, if you ever read this—thank you for being such a wonderful human and for introducing me to some of the best wine I’ve had in a long time. You made our visit to Silvara absolutely perfect, and I can’t wait to come back for another tasting (and another bottle of that Syrah!).
If you’re considering visiting Silvara, stop thinking about it and go. Ask for Tamera if you can, trust her recommendations, and prepare to fall in love with the wine, the atmosphere, and the...
Read moreMy family has a tradition of visiting Leavenworth during the Christmas holidays, and this year marked our third consecutive visit. The facilities are exceptionally cozy and charming, offering breathtaking views, especially when adorned with snow. The wine tasting experience has always been a highlight, and we often take bottles home to savor the memories.
However, our latest visit was marred by a disappointing encounter with the staff. Despite understanding the holiday rush and the inherent stress, I believe this doesn’t justify poor customer treatment.
On this occasion, we interacted with two staff members. The senior staff member, who appeared to be in charge, was noticeably rude. When I requested wine tastings for our group of five, her reaction was off-putting, as if our business was a burden rather than a benefit. Even when I suggested a group tasting to ease their workload and asked for clarifications, her responses were curt and unwelcoming.
In contrast, the younger staff member was exceptionally helpful and courteous, embodying the kind of hospitality we had come to appreciate from previous visits.
Despite this unfortunate experience, the allure of the place remains intact. The wine is delightful, and its proximity to Leavenworth is a major convenience. I hope that management will address these customer service issues so that the experience can be wholly enjoyable, aligning with the wonderful setting and offerings of...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of attending a wine tasting class at Silvara Winery in Leavenworth, Washington, and it was an experience I won’t soon forget. Our guide for the session was Avery, and his passion for wine and knowledge of the local varietals really shone through. From the moment we arrived, the beautiful winery setting made for a perfect backdrop. The tasting room itself was warm and inviting, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, which added to the overall charm of the experience.
Avery led us through a selection of Silvara’s best wines, explaining the unique characteristics of each, as well as the winemaking process behind them. He was engaging, informative, and had an incredible ability to make complex wine terminology feel accessible to all levels of wine drinkers. Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or just a casual wine enthusiast, he made everyone feel welcome.
The wines themselves were exquisite, with a great balance of bold reds and crisp whites. The charcuterie pairing was absolutely fantastic, and I had such a wonderful time. The selection of meats, cheeses, and accompaniments complemented each other perfectly, making for a truly memorable experience. Looking forward to...
