Best beach I've ever been to. We found so many crabs, sea anemones, and sand dollars. We found a few other things too. We make sure to get there a while before low tide to enjoy the sand and find the most creatures. When the tide comes in, there are only rocks. There's also a place with a swing and a clay bank. Some of the clay is moist enough to mold. We had a blast both times we went. There is a little parking just off the street as well as a parking lot. There was a porta potty, but no restroom. There are also a few picnic tables on a grassy area just above the rocky portion of the beach. This sandspit is open to the public; but once you get across from a from a house, you're on private property. There are signs, but at low tide the signs are easy to miss. I did notice when I just search Bella Bella Beach, Google maps points out a different portion of the island. When I copy and paste the address from the nature reserve website, it takes me to the...

We came here to explore low tide and we weren't disappointed. We saw crabs, starfish, and hermit crabs. We even saw a Great Blue Heron! The water was nice and clear. The beach started rocky and turned to sand as we got closer to the water. Plenty of tide pools with lots of life! There are a couple of picnic tables but they are higher up from the beach and they are in the shade. We got to the beach an hour before low tide and there was plenty of parking. The trail to the beach from the parking area is downhill. There is a porta-potty and it wasn't bad, no hand sanitizer though. There was a patrol officer there and I assume it's for the parking situation. I can see that being a problem for the local neighborhood. All in all, this was a wonderful park that was very clean and full of so many...

Has great views.. beautiful homes if your into that! Great sunset spot!

Bathroom was a port-a-potty.. was absolutely disgusting!! I've seen some gross ones.. but this one you couldn't even enter was so bad.. bright side.. great place a mile away or so.. gas, deli, store, bar.. pool tables.. little tricky to get there, we passed it.. turn at the waist high shell sign! On the left!

For those of us walking challenged.. the entrance is narrow.. so not sure how a wheelchair would fair.. it is a very steep hill to get down to the beach area.. once there not to bad, some grass, some beach.. picnic...

Gorgeous views of Carr Inlet and Hale Passage. And very quiet. Walk out to the end of the sand spit for views of Mt. Rainier. Looks like a great place for the littles. And great for sunsets. Five picnic tables. The lower park gate was closed. I parked in the upper dirt lot at 11am on a Thursday and there were 2 cars. When I left there were 5. The lot probably holds 10-15 cars. A narrow trail leads down the to park. From there a paved road leads down to the beach. You could probably take a wheel chair out to the road and down in through a gap in the gate. Clean port-a-potty but no hand sanitizer.

Beautiful location and 1 of the only locations on earth you can view calcite concretions of the kind found on Fox Island. These "Fairy Stones" or "Clay Babies" are illegal to take from the Spit as well as taking them from the private beaches without permission from the owners. Please practice "Leave no trace" techniques and do not disturb or remove any housing of living creatures. NOTE: Display of "Clay Babies" is Located in the Museum at the center of the island. Used for reference to the calcite specimines often found at the spit.
