This year they plan on draining the lake 3 feet to clean it up however I've eaten fish out of the lake and have never gotten sick.

Surprised they did not do the big draw down. I guess the people that live on the river with money have more precedence than the actual need to make the lake healthy again. Why don't they use the algae ridden water for growing medical marijuana. This type of hydroponics could be the cutting edge of many medicinal purposes yet it does not even get tested for such uses. It is a great fishing lake in the winter but being as shallow as it is presents issues for summertime recreation. Mostly because certain kinds of algae only grow in water that is this warm of water temperatures. Hopefully the reason they did not draw it down is to do further research on this but consensus in the area is...
