A real treasure to find! While attending the Camp MiGO 2025 Geocaching event we stopped by to participate in the adventure lab that's setup here. We discovered much more and learned a great deal about the history of this farm and the family who built it. They have several buildings to explore, with the house being the main event. It's incredibly open and there are many artifacts to see in each room. Normally places like this are a bit closed off but they really want you to explore what life was like in the mid-1800's. Afterward our 11yr old told us this was one her favorite parts of our trip! If you enjoy history, want to get some geocaching done, or have kids that like to explore then I highly recommend making a stop here. (Admission is free!)

These are beautiful grounds, but they were not open during advertised hours. We would have loved to tour the farm, even see the active restorations. But, it is my understanding that they are very short on volunteers. (Like everywhere today, it seems). Most unfortunate. I hope to return when there are staff present. The landscaping is nice, and love those ferns by the house. I want to find some like them for our place.

It looks like it would be a wonderful stopping-off point to waste a little free time. Very cute nestled in the countryside of southeast central Michigan. And, it is very well kept up. But we only saw the outside. Sadly, though the signs and websites say it is open, it wasn't open. So, call ahead is my suggestion to ensure it is open. I'm sure the full experience would be very nice way to spend an hour or two!

Very informative, real cabins with knowledgeable actors in historical wardrobe/fashion/ dialect. You can ask them anything about that era, and you WILL receive an answer. All proceeds are used 100% to the museum. All staff are volunteer only. They have a tractor day with volunteers bringing their refurbished yet perfect equipment. Christmas is beautiful, with all era decorations. The main home is filled with antique furniture, fabrics, appliances, artwork and staff. Store is full of local natural honeys, handcrafted items, artwork, and souvenirs, which are very reasonably priced. Fresh, unpasteurized apple cider samples are free, and larger sized cider is available for purchase. Kids can see how cider is made using the actual equipment and ask questions. A cafe has beverages and food available for purchase, and ample seating. CASH ONLY Check out their Facebook page, and like/follow so you don't miss out!!! Time period toys are free to try, and staff will explain and assist in using them. A great time to be had for all! Sorry, but not handicapped accessible for 2nd...

Love this vintage farm and it's local historical event days . Love the homemade baked goods and bean soup. Love the homemade churned real butter and stone oven baked molasses cookies. I personally like the native American displays of merchandise and military encampments. What I enjoy the most here is the horse drawn wagon rides in the fall to see peak colors at the back wood line of the farm on a warm day. Although lines are getting too long and waiting time to stand in lines. Children should be free for the ride, so more younger generations will attend to see historical place and learning. Food can be pricey too. If you entrance fee, food, gifts and ride it all adds up quickly for a less fortunate young family with shortage of funds or elderly, ect. Good family fun oriented outings here and don't have to o drive all the way to...

Visited on Pioneer Day. It's always nice, hometown fun. Didn't hear any cannon shooting, or any demonstrations of fabric dyeing. We were sad that there wasn't an interactive sewing station like there used to be. Seems like there were lots more vendors and less hands-on activities this year. We were all disappointed that there wasn't any butter churning demonstration and samples. We love that there were musicians playing in different locations throughout the entire day. Would be great if this was a two-day event so that it wasn't as crowded as it was on a Sunday. The line was probably about 40 people long just to get lunch and more than half that to go on hayride. I'm really glad they're busy, but unfortunately it isn't as much fun as a visitor when it's that crowded. Please bring back those interactive activities and the butter...
